And people have the right to point out that you're being offensive, rude, or negative. Especially when you're using a privately-owned service to do it, and when the terms of service that you agreed to in order to use said service have something to say about it.
Being rude because someone else was rude doesn't accomplish anything. Two wrongs don't make a right.
That's not helping, that's being condescending. The tone given in the example is Player A talking down to Player B. There's no reason at all to say "B, you're screwing up so many times, you're really dragging this out for us." Absolutely no reason to word it like that at all. That's like saying, "Bro, you suck, just get out of here so we can get the win." We have to be mindful with how we talk to people. I'm glad SE is cracking down on that.
It's amazing the number of people that seem to be under the impression that freedom of speech exempts you from consequence.
If you say something online, you are subject to consequences.
If you say something in the classroom, you are subject to consequences.
If you say something in the workplace, you are subject to consequences.
If you say something in the street, you are subject to consequences.
If you say something anywhere, you are subject to consequences.
* This is in reference to offensive, rude and negative comments. Please don't masquerade toxicity behind freedom of speech. Doesn't work very well.

YESSSS! I agree with this SO MUCH!And people have the right to point out that you're being offensive, rude, or negative. Especially when you're using a privately-owned service to do it, and when the terms of service that you agreed to in order to use said service have something to say about it.

The examples provided were not present when I agreed to anything. No one speaks like the examples given. There was once a time where advice and direction were taken at face value. Now everything seems to be a personal attack. Can’t even tell a person there’s only 1 way to do something? Well there are plenty of times there is only 1 way.And people have the right to point out that you're being offensive, rude, or negative. Take turn 13, an extreme case. If you did that synced, you build lb3 long before final phase. A dps could see the lb, try to push with the damage. But you need the lb3 for the tank to use to survive the soft enrage.
A more casual example would be copperbell slime boss. While you could dps it down, itd take forever without the use of bombs.
Sometimes there’s only a single way. Others there’s a most viable way. Unfortunately the outlined examples prevent direct communication.
I’ve seen some include examples that go along the lines of “you’re doing it wrong, you’re stupid”. But no one is fighting for that. What we want is “you’re doing it incorrectly, do it this way” as see opposed you “we tried it this way but I would like for everyone’s opinion on trying it another way. We can try the first way later. But if not, that’s ok too”.
Direct nets the best results, the message is clear and the words don’t get lost in a confusing mess of pandering to the ultra sensitive who look to be offended. Direct doesn’t automatically mean rude. It’s clear. It has the information needed without losing the message. But to half of you it means we are fighting for the right to insult

So you got to speak to a GM who upheld an action that punished you for saying something positive with no ill intent? .. Forgive the cynicism but aside from the fact that sounds absolutely made up, I have yet to see this happen in FFXIV or hear a credible first person account that didn't eventually reveal that what was said was far different than what was presented initially.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
why are people talking like being report=automatically get a strike?
I would be surprise any reports isnt handle by a GM or human being
So I think it is the judgement of that handler if something is rude/offensive, if each report/case is view individually, there should be no worry about system being abuse
2 things here-
1) Respectfully, apples and oranges; how and why you got banned from some other random game has no bearing on how or why you might get banned in FFXIV
2) Again, I mean this with the almost respect, but people who say “all I did was x and I got banned!” rarely, if ever “just did x” and aren’t telling the full story. In your case, who knows as you said totally different game.
You think that is cynicism when ppl literaly get assulted for opening a door for somone, or someone gets sued for saving a life lol..So you got to speak to a GM who upheld an action that punished you for saying something positive with no ill intent? ..
