There is no chance that SQEX can differentiate whether your internet provider had cut your connection off or you had rebooted your internet router to force a disconnect. So they can not tell whether it was intentionally or not.
Cheers
I do agree that acting belligerent is not desirable in social setting. I am just pointing out what you wrote can also be viewed as a prohibited action according to the CoC, if I am understanding it right. If it goes to that point where you can legitimately exploit the system (even if it is with bad faith), there can be severe problems. Especially in EU, where there are multiple of different cultures at play. Something that is perceived as normally polite in one culture can be offending in others. For example, in the culture I am from, people are very reserved and silent, but are very straightforward to the point of bluntness for other cultures. And the other way around most of Americans would be deemed as strange and even impolite, even if they meant to be polite. And all of this is not even language based, since even phatic expressions may differ from culture to culture even if the language is the same to the point that you might be perceived as rude.On the contrary, I find the idea that peoples' "right" to be rude and abrasive is more valuable than other peoples' right to be treated like a fellow human being is entirely laughable. And every time they try to defend it with "free speech" while lacking the self-awareness to accept that their actions have consequences, it gets funnier.
Now I do not buy as much into the doomsaying that others are bringing into it and everything will mostly stay the same I feel like. Like I said in my previous post, as far as I know I haven't gotten any warnings or bans during the 8 years and I most likely will be that way. But saying that all the criticism is just people wanting to act like jerks and therefore be laughable is also very disconcerting in my opinion.

Better be mindful when you're experiencing network instability then and communicate it adequately with the group then. If I'm to be frank in the matter I find it highly unlikely that people are going to report you for such a thing unless you've been outright disruptive or disrespectful in the first place. Even if they do, they aren't exactly going to sanction you unless it's repeat occurrences, as they so highlighted - "are confirmed to be occurring repeatedly:"
Like I said, it would need to be pretty damn convenient for unintentional disconnects to happen repeatedly under:
- right after entering a duty
- when progress is not going well in a duty
- when the team is about to be defeated in PvP
I wish I’d find it more amusing tbh. In a way it fills me with dread when people conflate the concepts of ‘not being jailed, terrorised and/or killed by your government because your views differ from theirs’ which is a very real and serious issue when people don’t have this right, and ‘I have the right to be a douchebag!’On the contrary, I find the idea that peoples' "right" to be rude and abrasive is more valuable than other peoples' right to be treated like a fellow human being is entirely laughable. I would prefer that people had thick enough skin to not take the explanation of basic game mechanics in a direct manner as "rude or insulting." That isn't anything to do with freedom of speech, it's basic communication in order to get through a task. Giving someone the order to pull big or turn on tank stance is just that. It's not an attack, it's just basic phrase.
I dont see why they wouldn't.
They could easily resolve this too by enforcing the already existing rules about stating in the game that they would require the use of a third party tool in their party finder listing.

Honestly, the only thing more annoying than the doomsayers insisting that everything is gonna go to heck in a hand basket thanks to the updates to the ToS are the people dismissing valid concerns with "ugh why can't y'all just behave like decent human beings" and acting like there aren't people out there who won't try to wield said ToS updates like a weapon.
I shouldn't have to say this, but not everyone is out to get you, and at the same time, not everyone has your best interests at heart. Only thing you can really do is continue to exercise caution.

Sorry, I just had to.![]()
I honestly wonder how these people get through daily life and hope for their sake that they never end up in a customer facing job.I would prefer that people had thick enough skin to not take the explanation of basic game mechanics in a direct manner as "rude or insulting." I've witnessed multiple instances of people weaponizing the ToS against others they felt slighted by; often people who got kicked from NN for being offensive or rude, then chose to quietly look for something they could use against the person they wanted revenge against.Honestly, the only thing more annoying than the doomsayers insisting that everything is gonna go to heck in a hand basket thanks to the updates to the ToS are the people dismissing valid concerns with "ugh why can't y'all just behave like decent human beings" and acting like there aren't people out there who won't try to wield said ToS updates like a weapon.

Specifically outlining all the things you can use against somebody just makes that easier, though I agree it still probably won't be too common of an occurrence.
