You do understand that any report is going to be handled by an actual human being who is going to review the case and see if in fact the “jerk” was indeed being a “jerk”, right? It’s not just some nebulous automated process or a “gotcha” scam game.

Yes I'm aware an actual human being will likely handle the case. Until the tickets become too overwhelming and the cost for all the new GMs becomes nonsensical so they move to a more automated AI system. Furthermore, I dont trust people with discretionary power when too many people will abuse that power for ideological and personal reasons.

The key point is the phrasing. "You can't do it any other way" and "So, stop doing that!", especially in Japanese, is insulting when a simple explanation of what the party should do is enough.
By saying "We need to do X to clear Y", you've already said "So don't do Z" without needing to say it.

Only if X and Z are mutually exclusive. Also they frame the only acceptable course of action as giving people suggestions, so if you say "why don't we try doing X to clear Y" the other person can still say "nah I'm gonna keep doing Z". It's only redundant to tell them to stop if they actually accept what you're saying and agree to do it.

To give a really dumb example:
You're eating at a Japanese restaurant and you've never used chopsticks in your life. The waiter says...

A) "Oh, here's how you hold chopsticks correctly. Let me show you"
B) "Oh, here's how you hold chopsticks correctly. Let me show you. You can't hold them any other way, so stop holding them like that!"

In B's case, yes, it's factual information, but it's also incredibly rude. There is no need to talk down to someone just because they don't know the correct way to do something.

But it's not factual, that's more like my Zurvan example. He's imposing his preference on you and calling it the only way.

The problem SE is trying to address is not a delivery of information, but doing so using basic polite manners. And it's honestly very sad that they have to spell it out so strictly.

It's not sad at all. The rules should be explicitly stated and enforced. If anything they should spell it out more.

I do have a chip on my shoulder. I pay attention to the real world and all the censorship, social engineering, and more that goes on. I play my games to escape it and now it affects that as well. And no, I literally mean you can't force people to be nice because it will have an opposite effect along with unintended consequences.

My forum posts are genuinely irrelevant, as your post count doesn't reflect your ability to be correct. Similar to.your social media likes and popularity isn't representative of your ideas being correct.

Freedom of Speech is not just a legal protection. It's an Inherent natural right all people possess. Meaning, I have the freedom to speak my mind openly. Including unpopular and controversial things. Just as I am doing now voicing my disapproval of the TOS changes.

I on the other hand having read the changes see very little actual change. I do see clarification of existing rules. Outside of the RMT stuff nothing much has changed. If you were not getting in trouble before you probably won't be now. Being polite and respectful to others is not that onerous a task nor is it a carebear thing.

There is no force involved. Those who will not abide by the rules will remove themselves from the game. Most however will never run into a problem.

Repeatedly. I think this is directly targetting Mentors leaving EX trials in Mentor roulette for instance. I don't think it will be an offense if I queue for Anima in 6.0, wipe 4 times, leave because it doesnt work and without insulting players, queue again and clear it with another team.

The whole point of being a mentor is mentoring/coaching and explaining things when required until new players figure it out.
They will have to actually do their job and be patient with sprouts now.

did you actually read the ToS prior to the changes?

I mean you are almost literally taking offense and being combative over them adding examples simply because some forums users are being alarmist. they calrified with some examples because I suspect some common offenders were wriggling through. so they closed loopholes.

as to your "freedom of speech" if you feel free to walk into someones home and spout off whatever you want without any care or consideration, and not expect a homeowner to be offended, call the police or whatever, I think you are sadly mistaken in what you consider a "right".
