I absolutely love Urianger now!

The 5.0 ending also gave me some conflicting feelings that soured the post content a bit, but the ending to 5.3 helped ease my way through the rest. I was hoping we could at least save Elidibus from... well, himself, but at least one of the charcters got a nice, heart-warming ending (Crystal Exarch/G'Raha Tia) so I had something to smile about.
And while I do hope we hear more of Emet-Selch, I also hope Ardbert makes a lil' comeback in Endwalker. 5.3 made it clear he can still communicate with us and is very much aware of everything we do. I thoroughly enjoyed the interractions with him in the Crystarium's inn, I hope my boy still hits me up every now and then!

He was written as one of the best antagonists in FF history. Bringing him back would ruin everything. It was perfect he left the plot when he did.
I sure don't want another (huge spoilers for rest of ShB ahead)situation where a characterG'raha.has a grand parting/sacrifice scene that gets cheapened out by bringing them back with the power of fanservice
People need to.learn to let go. Not every character you love is supposed to stick around forever at the expense of the writing

Definitely true, characters like Zenos and Y'shtola got so many death copouts. I just expect it at this point.

How do we know they didn't intend that from the very start? A story doesn't have to be all doom and gloom to be well-crafted. There are very good "righting the wrongs that happened" types of stories where exactly the same sort of events happen.
One of my favorites is the movie Frequency.

Zenos is the one that annoys me most to still have around. His exit in Stormblood made me retroactively appreciate his character more, and then that perfect ending to his story got ruined and ugh, go away dude.
