    The problem with Support abilities is that they are very situational by definition and thus do very little to prevent 1-button spam of our nuke, which is why we're trying to paliate here. Unless its a flat out DPS buff like AST cards, you will not get to use them that often.

    I'd love a "scan" type of minigame with SCH, for example, something to expose vulnerabilities but ultimately it'd probably be tuned down in the same way AST cards have been.

    I think it would depend on how they were handled really.

    So to expand on my example.
    A Water spell that grants a Regen effect.
    A Stoneskin that applies a debuff of some sort to the enemies that strike it while it's up.
    An AoE DoT that heals people that attack the affected Targets.

    They could all be slightly weaker in terms of potency since they offer utility but they would be more tools to utilize overall and help keep things interesting.

    Well thats the thing, if you combine damage and healing into an ability and that damage is a DPS gain over the Nuke spam+dot, that ability will always be used as a DPS tool, making the utility part a nice extra, but ultimately not the reason people use said ability, therefore you might aswell not add it, or keep the utility separate from the damage.

    Assize for example is a DPS gain as you can weave it into your Glare spam and its never used for heal. Dissipation is always used to get three stacks of AF to use on ED since its healing doesn't work on SCH's oGCDs.

    Skills like Pneuma and Macrocosmos work because their damage and GCD usage are the same as the basic Nuke of their respective classes, therefore there is no real gain to using them for dps and are exclusively used for their support effects. They also have very long CDs (120seconds)

    The primary difference between them is that Assize is an oGCD while Macrocosmos is a GCD ability. My suggestions would all be on the GCD so that they aren't used primarily as DPS options, just utility that also heal in a similar vein as Macrocosmos.

    In that case the damage has to be either equal to the Nuke or less.
