Doesn't impact me but I never found this fair having to live on egg shells if you said a bad thing years ago.
Good news on that penalty change. Since this game has so silly rules sometimes

Oh my gosh, if these rules were in place the day me (the tank) and the other person (the healer) got in a fight during a duty run, we'd have both been taken to the GM jail XD. This seems a little strict on SE's part. It makes me wonder what exactly their end goal is here. All this is going to do is make people afraid to chat in party. I don't know if I can offer help anymore after this 0.0 I might get in trouble.
Three Ilm Knights, One Thousand Malm Road
About damn time honestly. Been reporting this one 'player' in the PF who kept linking to actual gil selling sites for the past two months and nothing was getting done (They were selling TEA/UwU clears for over $150 and demanding a player's log in information to get them the clear). The player kept using an alt level 20 soulstoneless character to keep posting the ad. I was getting really bloody frustrated about the fact that players like that were getting away with this stuff, even when myself and a few friends were reporting it any time we saw it.
Please show support for chocobo boots to be added -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/323512-Suggestion-for-an-item-to-be-added-to-gold-saucer-Chocobo-Boots
Unhappy with how they implemented Mahjong? -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/381358-Mahjong-is-the-most-depressing-mini-game-you-ve-added-to-XIV
I mean, it will just lead to even more insta leaves leaving sprouts with the question of what did they wrong / how should they proceed.
What you gonna do, stare intensely at them, or try to communicate in emotes?
Wait. It's very troubling. I'm not sure how experienced players are supposed to be able to effectively correct weak links in a party when they are not allowed to communicate the problem with the person in question, and when they can get in trouble for attempting to do so. Ramuh EX is a great example. It's a bad thing to say "Tank, you need to get lightning orbs or else the boss will simply kill you again"?
I was a bit slow but what about Macros?
You know those that everyone use in EX content to organize the group, is it now reportable?
No, saying things like "You're a horrible player, you don't know anything, you suck, stop playing the game, etc etc" is now reportable. The language is VERY clear.
Statements such as "you're bad at [something]," or "you're not getting [something] at all"
blaming and attacking others, such as "It's [player name]'s fault that we wiped" or "You really make a lot of mistakes,"
"your glamour is terrible, you should quit the game," or "the way you talk disgusts me."
Statements such as "people like you will never get better"
it is prohibited to make statements such as "why aren't you doing [specific thing]? Everyone knows that's how you do this!"
"There is nothing wrong with providing suggestions that the player community typically follows, but this can only be presented in the form of a "suggestion" and cannot be in the form of a demand"
Statements such as "how can you screw up on something so simple that no one else messes up?" are prohibited.
Wait i can offer 1mill for help with something
But i cant make one offering help for one mil
Seems hypocritcal
The two major updates are mostly welcome changes, but the Nuisance behavior segment and the examples provided are entirely overboard, excessive and unreasonable. Like really, heaven forbid any comment you make even resemble anything remotely negative. If someone joins your EX clear party without having spent a single minute in the fight previously, essentially it's reportable to call them out on it?
I used to take it as a joke when people said "don't talk to anyone in-game to avoid getting reported," but those guidelines make it look like everyone's best defense against getting reported out of spite for daring to disagree with someone is to not say anything at all.
Their end goal is unclear. The likely effect is that DF/PF socialization will completely die and many players will stop playing with unknown people altogether.Oh my gosh, if these rules were in place the day me (the tank) and the other person (the healer) got in a fight during a duty run, we'd have both been taken to the GM jail XD. This seems a little strict on SE's part. It makes me wonder what exactly their end goal is here
Anyway, I don't really agree with their stance on this. They're making gil even more irrelevant. They could at least create a "mercenary" page on the PF with clears sold for gil only...but they probably decided for a stricter approach because they know how rampant gil selling is, I suppose.
Yeah, doesn't make much sense. So they're not against people buying clears for gil...but they're against people offering help for gil? Very weird stance.

So, the rule is basically "don't be a dick about it".
