There is a definite precedent for them showing up again given that the Final Days would likely send the people of Thavnair into a panic and potentially provoke enough prayer to call a more authentic version of their primal into being...though we'd have to destroy them anyways because having gods bleeding the world of aether when it's already coming apart at the seams would not be favorable

The description of being deep beneath the earth makes it sound like this will deal with the Terminus stuff, but a) I feel like that would be MSQ territory, and b) the Lahabrea image makes me think these sealed away monsters are things he created instead.

I'm assuming it's probably underneath the former imperial palace as a nod to its location in FF II (The Emperor's castle transforms into Pandemonium in the endgame) and judging from the Tower of Zot there's an extremely extensive underground space beneath all of the towers.

I'm also feeling like the story is going to be less about Lahabrea still being alive in some capacity and more just cleaning up a mess he created eons ago that only ended up becoming a problem due to the second coming of the Final Days. It was his department that captured Twintania for research purposes, only for it escape and wreak havoc so perhaps there was a whole slew of captured terminus beasts and discarded creations that were too dangerous to be destroyed and were simply sealed away instead.

The creations of the Ancients were noted as not possessing souls, so I'd assume that primals are the same due to effectively being born in the same manner.

To their stated knowledge, souls could only form within life born through "natural methods", though that notion seems to have been challenged by Alpha and Omega, who were both strongly implied to have gained souls of their own by the end of the storyline.

That said, it's not really clear whether or not Allagan creations spawned through their biotechnology were the same...at least not initially when considering two of the beast tribes originated with them.

I do feel like deeper knowledge about the workings of the soul and the Lifestream is going to be essential to how things play out in Endwalker, though.

Baseless Speculation: Lahabrea created 'The Noise', and it's why Pandaemonium is a thing. Seal the place up with said abomination inside, hope no one ever finds out they were responsible, try and undo said mistake.

It wouldn't be the first time we/Urianger make wrong assumption though.
Azem being related to Azim/Azeyma is what we currently believe because there are obvious connections (the name, the Sun), but there is nothing to confirm that.
Maybe the naming convention used for the Twelve followers of Hydaelyn is similar to the naming convention of the original convocation.
Maybe Venat did not want a 'seat of Fandaniel' in her crew for some reasons, and that could be why they are only Twelve.

I'm going to take this a step further and say the 12 are associated with Venat's crew and they are represented by the real life Zodiac. Since Azem and Venat make the true number 14, it will be the 12 Zodiac, the Sun and the Moon. Venat is known as The Hunter, which is also Sagittarius, so further deduction says all the unknown of the 12 fit the rest of the Zodiac. Azem is obviously the Sun. The hang up is the Moon and I'm going further go out of the limb and connect that with Zenos.

As confirmed by Yoshi-p that Zenos really thinks he and WOL are friends, it would make sense that they are somehow real friends as Ancients. This is doubly linked because Zenos is having dreams of The Final Days, implying he was also an Ancient of that time. In fact what Zenos knows about Ancients is the most interesting thing about his character atm, not that he has become a reaper and has an avatar.

Could Primals be clones or false simulacrums of some kind of entity? Do they even have a soul since clones don't have them?
Aspected clones would be a fun twist!

I have in the past assumed that they do have a soul, most of them don't really act like how I'd imagine a soulless magic automaton would behave.

I don't really know though anymore, the idea doesn't gel with the lore as neatly as it once did.

The section has been renamed "New Threats" to match the slides used in previous presentations. It looks like it was just a typo on their end. It's not impossible that they show up again as a trial but given that they take up a whole dungeon's worth of bosses, I personally doubt it.

I just had THE dumbest idea and I must inflict it on everyone. There's like a 2% chance of it happening but it'd be hilarious if in Pandaemonium:

Someone probably pointed it out eons ago, but I've been getting a lot of FFIX in my recommended due to talking about Zidane and some other things I guess. Saw this picture from a place in Oeilvert, the one Terran place that is on Gaia in FFIX.



Already know that its room with the robotic faces on the wall is reference by the Ascian masks in Hades's wings...

Wonder if we'll get an instance in Sharlayan where magic is sealed... unlikely, but man... lol
