Can SQ-EN draw a line in the sand w/ 3rd Parties?

I've been watching streamers do high end stuff and I see and hear programs announcing mechanics before they even exist on screen. Certain mechanics are randomized in the order they will occur and people are reacting to them far in advance.

Folks try to rationalize this as ok by saying, 'oh it's no different than having your raid lead call it', but let me counter with this; does your raid lead have precognition and can tell the order of random mechanics before they happen all the time? If not, then you're cheating. Plain and simple.

I watched third party addons destroy my previous favorite game for over a decade. There are third party tools out there that almost play the game for you and they must be stopped now and they need to take whatever actions are needed. This can NOT be normalized any further in order to prevent irreparable damage to the game.

That said, I don't know how to stop it. Like was mentioned earlier, it's not like they are going to install something on your computer to scan it. That's problematic and also illegal in some places.

It's perfectly legal and done by game companies anywhere that any Call of Duty , Fortnite, Blizzard game, Apex Legends, Doom, PubG or Valorant and League of Legends, and Battlefield game is played and many many other games already do this. SE needs to start too.

I honestly dont think this will ever be a concern in FF14 for multiple reasons. The game is on consoles, meaning it will always have to be designed without those tools. The devs dont want people to use tools, so they design encounters around not having them. Raid rewards are not going away once the tier is finished, meaning raiders are not under threat of missing out if they decide to take things slow or do it later.

OP, the mechanics aren't random. I memorized every single mechanic, in order, of Eden 6 Savage. It is possible.

But yeah the third party stuff does confer an advantage. And no, SE isn't going to start banning streamers for using them. It would damage the community.

Giving them a warning to send a message would be equally effective, I'd think.

It would at least force them to make a decision about whether they want to stream their content without questionable add-ons or do things off stream with the aforementioned crutch.

The problem isn't the devs designing the encounters around the addons or not. It's that since they exist, a notable portion of the raiding community requiring them. Ive been gaming and working with software all my life and this is the first time I have ever seen a company allow software that modifies the code of the game running. These aren't xml UI mods. These are what's known as "trainers" in the industry. It's baffling that these have anything more than a zero tolerance policy.

Im not so sure. Yoshida said in one of the recent media tour interviews, when asked about an officially sanctioned race to world first event for EW, that for one to occur, third party tools would have to be hard cracked down on. Im paraphrasing of course, but he said it.

So what, now high-end raids will be joining the rest of the pve content as content with no value because people feeling entitled to every type of reward in the game think they must be allowed clears instead of "treating it like a job" as they say to get better at learning and coordinating...?
Sigh.

I hope this doesn't make SE change their stance and actually nice and harmless stuff like helmet mods don't suffer because there were too many spoiled players relying and expecting cactbot.

malicious actors will always find a way and more importantly, every single of these games is not an MMORPG but a fricking FPS/TPS game, aside from the singular MOBA, so your whole comparison is moot

What does it matter the genre of game that it is?? Lol Cheating is cheating. And of course these anti-cheat solutions used by these companies aren't perfect and don't catch 100% of the cheating. No one claimed otherwise. So since we can't catch them all, don't even try? Since cheating will still always happen to some degree, just allow it outright? I think not.
