The job is effectively limited as to what content it can participate in, pretending otherwise would only confuse new players further as explaining the situation nowadays is already bizarre enough.

Blue mage is barred from participating in the more prominent side activities in the game that aren’t 4 year old fights. No Eureka, Deep Dungeons, certainly no Bozja, only meme spells that can be used in a carnival for allied seals and Moogle Events every several months. I already managed to get the jacket from this event passively, without having to touch the T2 spam strat. I can only imagine how much less useful Beast Master would be.

Even gacha limited-time draw events have more longevity than this since at least you can take your 5 star character or weapon into actual content. There is nothing misleading about this classification.

Try to define "actual content" and you'll find that it's a largely subjective term that can be further shaped by individual preferences. You've talked about your dislike of Blue Mage in other threads before and seem to not consider the Masked Carnivale or Blue Log content to fall under your definition of what is "actual" content, but plenty of other people (myself included) like the job and consider those things to be actual content that's uniquely available to the job, so what makes their subjective view less valid than yours?

What is it specifically that makes certain content that's exclusive to say Blue Mage not "actual content" compared to say ocean fishing? Ocean fishing is also a minigame, one that's specific to the Fisher job, and yet we don't call that a limited job, and we don't call Miner a "limited job" just because it can't access that piece of content that only Fisher can.

Again, I think it's misleading to arbitrarily refer to a certain job as a "limited job" just because it has certain unique content in place of certain (but not all) pieces of content in some other jobs. Paladin isn't a "limited job" just because it can't access the Masked Carnivale, or because its actions aren't selected from a larger set of learned actions for the sake of role and player variety, or because its actions are achieved through mostly leveling rather than via the unique mechanic of tracking down and killing very specific monsters after witnessing certain actions being used. "Different" and "unique" mean different things than what "limited" implies here, the latter of which also has a more negative (and yes, misleading) connotation.

I don't see the issue with confusion. All it takes is a disclaimer on job unlock, much like we get a popup with the job gauges explaining what they do once we unlock them.

I would even say that XIV in general does a pretty bad job at explaining things that aren't in the early levels to new players regardless of how it's called, most of it you learn by trial and error or google.
