still wouldnt fix the main problem. Because there will still be 80 levels of miserable glare/broil/malefic spam including but not limited to duty finder duties, solo duties, job quest duties, fates in the overworld, guildhests, trash mob slaying for sidequests and eureka/bozja.

    However you aren't entirely wrong

so yes, give dps options and some of the other stuff that;s been removed over time like mp management, crowd control, debuffs and buffs

Its a 3 pronged approach and 1 of them has to give
    1. More dps buttons-se understands why players want this and this has proven to be the best way forward
    2. Change encounter design to be more variable than scripted-SE wont do this as it would be jarring after 80 levels of scripted content
    3. increase amount needed to heal or lower healing potencies. -SE wont do this as they have no desire for higher healing requirements

Please no more dps buttons, I've been healing since the start of 5.0 and playing since 2.0. I can say without a doubt this version of healing is the best so far. I don't want to worry about a rotation, opener, or something optimal, I just want to press my button to do damage while keeping myself, and others alive.

There's a world of difference between people asking for a few more optional attack options during excessive downtime versus many more; the former isn't going to ruin healing for casual players.

I believe Sage is what you're looking for. It combines healing and damage in ONE button. There's even less to worry about!

Sage has a rotation and I'm sure that somehow it will have some raiding optimizing level headache in it.

If you were under the assumption that Scholar didn't have a rotation, I've got some bad news for you. Scholar has a rotation too, and it involves using Energy Drain to dump 3 stacks via weaving, using Dissipation to get more, then dumping those stacks with weaving as well. Sage won't have as involved of a DPS rotation as Scholar does. In fact, even in Endwalker, Scholar's opener is probably going to stay the most DPS bursty of the four healers. I'm being genuine when I say what I said; Sage looks like it's the exact healer you've been waiting for.

Yeah but the opener is a noob trap since doing that can leave you open to not having aetherflow, you can do it without dissipation dump just with regular aetherflow dump and save dissipation stacks for shit that could go wrong.

"the opener is a noob trap"
How? If things are going so poorly within the first 60 seconds of a fight that you need to hold Dissipation, that means you've got your fairy, which means you can use Seraph, Fey Blessing, Whispering Dawn, Aetherpact and you've got Recitation for crit Indom/Excog. Why did you not prepull Adlo + Deployment Tactics? You also have a cohealer who can be healing just as much as you can as well, if not more. If you're not concerned about DPS loss too (as you shouldn't be if things are going poorly) you've also got Emergency Tactics and GCD heals, and if you're concerned about DPS loss to that point, why are you playing the one healer that loses DPS for every aetherflow action not used on Energy Drain? There's a reason that SCH is considered a Chain+Soil bot right now, and that'ss because Soil is generally worth the DPS loss; but where are you needing to hold off using Dissipation when Recitation gives you Indom/Excog for free?

"This version of healing is the best so far" followed by "I don't want to worry about a rotation, opener, or something optimal" encapsulates perfectly why the current healing iteration is a failure in design, where proper designed jobs try to incentivize players to get better this iteration only appeals to people who do not know nor care about playing the role or getting slightly better, they just want to be optimal without putting any effort and are willing to hijack and drag a role down in order to do that

You won't find people like that in any other role, not even tanks, because no other role has problems as dire and has been dumbed down as much as healers
