It's very sad as a longtime player to see this is still an issue.

The ears SHOULD clip through the hats, or else what was the point of playing viera? The ears have always clipped or been tucked back, but obviously the clipping looks much better. I know these are cartoon avatars, but I've seen pictures of ears clipping with the ffxiv models, and they look GREAT! The pictures honestly look like as if SE had done it themselves. Please please please let the ears clip, and open up ALL helmets, there's no excuse. /beg

Happy to see they're adding hairstyles, very disappointed to see that still helmets are not being included in any sort of discussion.

For what it's worth, it was actually brought up in Meoni's interview with YoshiP and they are working on it along with the hairstyles for both. No concrete information on when but it hasn't been forgotten.

I feel like there's no excuse that 2 years after launching female Viera, that they still can't wear most hats in the game.

6.0 should have at the very least launched with full working male and female Viera, including hats.

I don't mind not having as many hairstyles as long as they add them over time, but a lot of gear sets just don't look good on my Viera, because the hat is really important.

RDM and BLM have very hat-dependent looks.

At least fix them for those job specific sets going forward.

I definitely see your point. I would have preferred if SE focused on the pre-existing issues with female viera before implementing the gender counterpart.. but I’m glad it’s getting sorted out now. Better late than never

I wouldn’t have an issue with the ears clipping through hats like RDM and AST because realistically there would have to be holes for their ears anyway. The only issue for me personally would be where the clipping actually happened. Example, if my ears clipped through the feathers on the RDM hats, then that would bother me just for the visuals.

This hat issue doesn't affect me at all. Even before viera and hrothgar existed, when I used to be a highlander or a lala, I never used hats. Only horns and glasses. Yeah it would be cool to be able to use them, but hat's aren't really that common. If you take a walk trough the streets of your city, how many people you see would be wearing a hat? I don't think that many. Also ingame, not that many people are wearing hats from what I see. They don't seem that essential and I don't care about hats one bit. But I hope viera and hrothgar can wear them eventually for people that care. I'm way happier that viera and hrothgar will be able to have more hairstyles as that's way more important to make you look unique.

I have played Au Ra enough to become completely numb to clipping and weird "ear" holes. If they are fine with tails and horns clipping through everything in super unrealistic ways then we will live if a bunny ear, that barely wiggles, brushes a little too close to an equally static pointy hat. Tails sticking directly out of the center of a cape is way more immersion breaking.

Show me where I can buy a red mage or bard hat, and I will wear it all the time. Baseball caps are boring. (Also, I have a big head. "One size fits all" my ass.)
