Only pointing out that you have no relatable way to say such a thing, i do not care about WoW players counter nor FF XIV, not do i care about devs in any of those games either.
Maybe you do wish it's pretty bad for them out of spite, but you have nothing to backup that claim more than "ppl on internet are not happy" while most players dont even bother to go the forums rightfully.

Funny how you never read actual posts, and when you do it's always horribly quoted. English isn't my first language either, I get it.

There was nothing to do and i wasn't having fun. I've been playing for a loooong time and it wasn't a hard choice to make. That's when i got an account fired up here. Played this until wow looked to be fun again. I found a community there.

Currently, i love playing, i have a great time. I love my friends that i've made there. They make the game fun for me.
Because wow to many is a sinking ship and to many xiv is the only option of another mmo. (Like you don't really hear about any of the dozens of other mmos ever even though they're often quite well off). So when someone hates the sinking ship they're on but see that the alternative doesn't have a place for them or their interest where are they to go aside from crawling back to their old bad relationship. Maybe a lot of wow players feel stranded and are forced to either stay sinking or force themselves to fit the mold of a game that doesn't fit them.

Like, aside from the main story of shadowbringers and maybe some of the hilde quest line I've hated basically all the story this game has. (ff games often have competent good stories but something about how they tell stories I swear I have never liked a ff games story to date). and for a game that is prided for its story and is mostly story it was really hard for me to find reason in here. In wow I was a 'semi' hardcore raider, I loved pvp, I love the games deep lore (as I'm a fan of anything that has a deeper universe then whats on the surface like destiny, mabinogi/vindi, the likes) and loved a lot of the systems. (Horrific visions was mad fun). But coming here, No real pvp, story is probably good but delivered like a tough steak, and raiding- I'm kinda shit at this game for some reason so I dont get to raid as much as I'd like. So what do I do? Lot of people here would just say "go back to wow" and a lot of people do which is why so many people stay with the abuse. When the only option is to conform to whats there or crawl back to where you came from those aren't very good odds for people like me.

Xiv can learn from wow- and so can wow learn from xiv. honestly most mmos can learn a thing or two from each other and the truely best mmo would be the culmination of all good things from the others. Sure there's a fear that the game will 'turn into wow' if it takes even a inch towards it but that isn't entirely true. Wow does do some things better and xiv would be better to move a bit closer in that direction (having a more easily digestable story/ having a transmog collection system...pvp) as wow would be moving a bit closer to xiv. (having a more obvious story as so many people don't even know what wow is about. Having more entertaining non hardcore aspects that people can enjoy. housing >_> )

What is there to like in WoW? The game is in a terrible state with zero content and terrible developers.

It wasn't always like that. In the beginning, when the people who actually created and loved the game were still there, it was quite an experience. The community wasn't always trash either. When the game and forums were monitored, it was awesome as well. Now, it's all about the money and less about the quality. With them bleeding subs now, they are in a tailspin trying to turn it around...which isn't going to work. They are starting to take it too far now and not far enough in who they need to get rid of (looking at Ion).

There will always be diehards, but the glory days of WoW as the king is over.

I agree with all that you said. WoW is a shadow of its former self, the only people that play it now have been chasing nostalgia to get that old feeling of wonder that they had when they were a teenager or a child. They think the game will change for the better, holding out and insisting that the players who leave are toxic, meanwhile turning on each other in game due to the punishing systems that force you to play.

Honestly, although I haven't played WoW since the beginning, instead I joined during end of Legion/beginning of BFA then quit before Shadowlands; I honestly felt repelled by the community. They were extremely unfriendly to new players in dungeon content which made me avoid people in general, the systems in the game were atrocious, the chat channels were also toxic cesspools, and I have heard horror stories about other women in game dealing with the creepiness from their guild members or other players. All of that made me quit, even before all the lawsuits or anything like happened. The game was completely not enjoyable, and that was really sad, since many claimed for it to be a good MMO, and I've played many but I supposed I joined up a bit too late to actually see the golden age of WoW. It seemed like it would have been fun to play when the community was a lot more relaxed and not competitive, and when the developers actually listened to their community. But, unfortunately unless the devs wake up now, that game is gonna crash hard one day; since it's already a sinking ship now.

I mean I just hang out and do content with my friends. Im actually generally okay with the expansion -- but see the faults and problems it has and it should fix (the Blizzard alarm clock of X.1.5 needs to stop being a thing). My friends make the game enjoyable to me more than FF14, where a lot of my friends are wishy-washy and do their own things too often.

A lot of the times, the downsides of the game can be ignored with the right social group. Same thing with any MMO.

I played wow for a few years and still have a group of friends playing the game and none of them really enjoys the game right now. I tried to get them to ff but not everyone is interested in giving the game a chance and they wanted to stay together.
Blizzard is very lucky that the game was popular for such a long time and a lot of communities were built. Otherwise the game would be dead by now. This being said. Their devs are doing their best to even drive away their last loyal players.
Their recent censorship crusade and their open disdain for their playerbase they have been showing over and over again definitely changed a few people's minds.

Welcome to the West. Remember Haurchefant's Japanese personality was literally censored out and changed for English audiences.

I just don't see why talk about it so much, it looks like you're trying to identify with people who also play WoW. I mean, yeah urge of players and all that, but FFXIV is its own thing.
People don't want to talk about other mmos, we want to talk about what we get to do here. I'm also an MMO guy, but I don't go talking all day about the great systems of other mmos I play with people who are hyped about FF.
