You're missing the point. In the example you gave, nobody asked a question. Do you just want them to volunteer the mechanics because someone simply says they don't know them? You realize there are A LOT of people that don't want to be told mechanics because they want to run blind.

I’m thinking they were the new person or at least one of the new people. Sour they had no understanding of the fight. Mad no one held their hand with a step-by-step

It's not our "job" to hold your hand through content before you even put a single attempt into completing it. That's ridiculous. You don't get to just say "I don't know the fight" and expect mentors to begin explaining every tiny detail of everything in the fight. That's lazy and super entitled.

it's not even a "job," we don't work for square-enix. We are people playing a game who agreed to be friendly and answer basic questions. If explaining mechanics is necessary to clear, then we speak up and explain them so that the fight can be completed. Otherwise, you're welcome to enjoy the game just like everyone else.

Let me just say one more time. Quit your "job" stuff. This isn't a job. We don't work for square-enix. Comparing it to "fixing computers irl" is a joke. That's actually your job, mentorship is not.

I did a run of Castrum Fluminis where the other healer was dead, and I got a bit cocky with a group stack Medica II galaxy-brain strat, thinking I could survive the stack and let Medica II heal me and the party enough for me to res the other healer (forgetting Tetra was off cooldown).

I did not, and the party wiped as a result. Seriously need to get better at the whole healing thing.

Oof. Certainly had my fair share of miss observations. All part of the growing process though.

Me and my wife spawned into Sunken Temple of Qarn (STOQ) to do our dungeon roulette on our alt jobs (x2 dps), we did not know the healer or tank.

Tank is sprout / No job stone equipped (Dungeon is level 35 ish?) / No tank stance on.

We said hello and with a small first pull, mobs aggro'd everywhere but no deaths...tank continues on and we politely use auto-translate due to Eng/JP translation

Tank / Stance / Please Use o7

Tank:..............(No response) runs and grabs more mobs...still no tank stance on.

We help nuke stuff down again...and try to beckon emote / point emote / more auto-translate to turn tank stance on again.

Tank:..............(Still no response), we stop following behind tank.

Now we all use auto translate wall spam to try and have them turn tank stance on.

Tank:..............(Turns tank stance on, and then back off again with another pack pull)

Tank: (pulls a large pack) - everyone dies while we type out auto translate for tank stance please / keep it on.

Healer: "Are they doing this on purpose?"

Everyone dies.....

At this point we give up on trying to complete the dungeon.

Healer logs off. Me and wife wait for timer to expire to vote abandon.

Tank finally send a tell in JP saying that they are "sorry for the inexperience".

I am not sure what we could have done as a group to try and help a sprout tank. I was willing to try and help a new tank as much as possible, but it's a bit hard when the other player in not communicating back / listening to offered help.

I tried to send a message post dungeon, but I think by that point they had logged off / not available.

Had a pretty epic DF experience in Castrum Fluminis a day or two back and I figured I'd share.

Majority of the party was new. So we get into the fight, we do pretty well on phase 1. There were some tears on transition. We get to phase 2. Selomancy kills the tank and 2 DPS with doom. I take over. The PLD and DPS get ressed. Boss uses Zashiki-Asobi (The dancing fans). They hit pretty much 6/8 party members with vulnerability debuff. Reprimand kills a DPS or two. Shared line stack marker (lead of the underworld) puts us very low. We recover. The second Selomancy goes out, and one DPS dies to the cleave.

Phase 3. She opens with Lunacy (Stack marker AoE) and the party took some heavy damage since the first-timers didn't realize there were successive hits after the first delayed hit. Another DPS die. We recover.
Some die to Dark/Bright Blade (the half room cleave AoE) or take a lot of damage. The next Reprimand hits, putting people at half hp.

The next Zashiki-Asobi happens. Everyone other than me (GNB), a Samurai, the PLD, and the BRD died. No healers. So half the party was cheering us on while we whittled her down. I try to mitigate as much damage as possible with Heart of Light against the raidwides while tanking and the Samurai did really well with dodging the incoming mechanics, as well as using Bloodbath against the raidwide to heal back up. We manage to tank the next Lunacy, but the BRD died.
3 people left. The next Zashiki-Asobi comes out. The PLD tries to clemency himself, but gets hit by the dancing fans twice, and dies from accumulating too many vulnerability stacks.

2 party members left. I'm hitting very low HP (~5% HP), and the Samurai is roughly ~20% HP. I see reprimand coming out, so I pop Superbolide and hope Aurora and Brutal shell can help recover my HP enough.
The Samurai puts everything he has left in this Melee LB3. Boss down to their last 5% HP.

Reprimand goes out, and the Samurai finally dies. "It's all up to you Cain." he passes the ball to me. My invulnerability expires shortly after. I pop Nebula, and Heart of Stone, and manage to survive the next cleave with around 8% HP. Heart of Stone and Aurora expires.

I dodge the next Zashiki-Asobi & following Bright/Dark Blade while trying to alternate the 1-2-3 combo with Burst Strike to get Brutal Shell to mitigate as much damage as possible. 3%. 2%.
The boss uses Zashiki-Asobi again with Reprimand, and I survive by using rough divide to gap close back into the boss with my mitigation up and get the heal & shield from Brutal Shield. Still trying to do as much damage as possible.

"Oh shit, he might be able to do it!"

By this point, I'm down to my last tank mitigation. Re-opening with No mercy, Sonic Break, Bow Shock, and one more Gnashing Fang Combo! Still not enough. Another 1-2-3 basic combo into a Burst Strike into a rough divide! I take a look at the Boss is around at 1% HP. DoTs are still ticking. I have roughly ~4000 HP left. I can do this. 1-2-3! 0.5% HP left!

The boss marks me for Lunacy.

I take a quick look at my hotbar. No mitigations left, no Invuln, no Aurora. Nothing's left. Just one cartridge.

4 seconds left on channel before the stack marker kills me. Burst strike. 0.3% HP Remaining.
3 seconds left. Danger Zone. Dropped to 0.2% HP.
2 seconds left.
1.5 seconds left. Keen Edge. 0.1% HP
1 second left.
0.5 seconds left.
0 seconds left. The stack marker disappears from my head and is about to hit me, but the screen fades to dark as DoTs drops the boss to 0% and the victory cutscene begins.

"Clutch?"
"CLUTCH?!"
"CLUCH!"

The party was pretty hype about the whole thing. That was really clutch and made my day tbh.

Ah, just another one of those healers. The type that doesn't bother contributing if they don't need to heal. Of course, a healer is a healer, why would they do DPS?

I'm actually tempted to record my own gameplay with a group of my friends just to give my FCmate some meme material to watch.

Let them see how many /beesknees, /doze, /laugh, /stagger, & /headache I can do in between healings! Look! Nobody died, okay?!
