It is what a part of the community wants, definitely. Hell, I would not be upset if it happened. However, I am also willing to acknowledge what I want doesn’t align with their design or metrics. Just like loving the ARR/HW summoner didn’t align with a large portion of players, dots never do apparently. I mean they gave their most clear answer to date on this issue with the live letter. At a minimum, it is set in stone for the expansion, but I suspect this is just the way it will be. They acknowledged what the vocal subset has been wanting and said no. The like and other like the it was in 5.0 and this their design going forward.

I'll keep pointing out how that is not satisfactory to me. As a healer, and a player. I'll offer constructive criticism whenever I can and try to prove and convince other healers that dev mindset is not optimal. I like this game, and I want it to have fun in it. I don't think either of my suggestions infringe on what the devs said, particularly, but who knows. Maybe I'll change my opinion in the future.

So far, I just don't like the one-button spam philosophy. So I'll let them know.

Pressing one button over and over again is awful, horrible, wretchedly bad game design. And I'll call it what it is until and unless it stops being the case. I swapped to DPS this expansion, and nothing I saw during the live letter has changed my switch.

I enjoy healing in games. I don't in this one, because it's insultingly boring. And if Sylphies are giddy about the fact that an entire role is especially designed around their own personal brand of laziness to the exclusion of players like me, that says a heck of a lot about their hypocrisy when they whine about meeeeeean vet healers.

so lets just summarize from the media tour and yosi p interview that he basically said he hates the vet healers and wont listen to a word they say and thinks all healers are too stupid to press more then 1 button or have depth in the kit and that is the design they are going forward in 5.0 and beyond.

We tried that already since over 6 years. But yeah if I have kids I teach them to tell square after I’m dead that they maybe should make healers have more dps skill because the cure bots don’t freaking care how easy it is to deal dmg with 2 buttons because they don’t use it anyway. Oh no they feel pressured by just having the buttons it’s not like you eat a insta Bann if you actually try to teach them, no they are special snowflakes that rather go afk they sully the name healer and as long as the job has pretty sparkle effects it’s the best job ever. And if they actually do get kicked out of savage fights because they wanna get carried by 7 other people and do nothing do you actually think they reflect a bit ? Of course not because it must be that toxic elitist min max ff 14 community that uses filthy math too help and tell people that are willing what the best way is too play the job. These people put more afford in a guide then some player’s do in the game,ever.

I don't think these statements help this cause as much as you think. Surely they are a proof of how dejected we feel but burning bridges isn't exactly what we should do I don't think. I'd want casual players to see that they can exist with veterans. That there is enough design space to satisfy both.

there is but SE simply said no,its right there at mr happy interview and seeing how he directly said that he heard the complains but wont do a thing well tbh if healers wont be more vocals i think it will never change really and the next thing we will see is healers having only 2 buttons ,one heal and one heal so you wont be pressured to heal while also having more then 1 button for healing while u basically wait for the boss to do damage or become a healbot and just spam those 2.

How more years do you think we should wait any more. I actually think I developed Stockholm syndrome playing healer in this game. After falling expansions after expansion more and more on the face I still fight for it only to get gold too fluff off. A therapist would call you a idiot for doing something like this for years. And I still do it because I love this game and the healer role.
