What: Every Sunday, Abaddon holds a 'Swap Meet', melding gear, crafting, trading mats, trading materia, etc. The goal is to get gear made for spiritbonding, get gear melded, and the sorts of things that we often need help from a fellow crafter to accomplish. It's one of our regular events that I personally look forward to more than anything else. After the server merger, we'd like to extend this event towards the general population on Balmung.


When: Every Sunday starting April 1st to start around noon MST (2:00pm EST). The event has historically lasted about 2 to 3 hours.


Where: In front of the adventurers guild in Uldah, next to the fountain.


How: Bring any mats, materia, catalysts, gear, etc you'll need. Gear will not be made if mats are missing, no exceptions.

I been part of this shell for over a year + since launch. I not sure what everyone issue is, yea molly may not be a crafter, he is just putting out this to help others in the server. Personally i been at some of this event if i can wake up at 4/5 am my time, just to help others craft/ meld and so on. From a crafter, sometime if its a material i have an abundance of supply on, i could supply for a couple of craft or so. But to each their own perspective and way they want do this. People get to know each other more in shell, talk and cordinate craft. know the linkshell crafters who some do not spend time battling and thus may not be well known since they seldom be on grind party or say ifrit/moogle or etc :P.

The reason for a dedicated day for this is so that crafters and everyone will get a dedicated day or 2, to get all their gears and stuffs they need for the following week. It gives time for everyone gather all the stuffs needed to make their craft or more, and it doesn;t put the crafters for some, into stress. Like having request to craft on and off at every hour or so when they mid way doing things.

Personally i would like to be there to continue participate and help in this but, in server merge as some may know, i am shifting away to another server due to timezone problems.

Like most events, everyone can decide whether they want to do or not. The crafters will be there to help if people needing help. Kind of fun seeing people get to know the shell or server crafters, and make new friendship . In summary is quite simple really, prepare the stuffs and materials you need before the day. and then just have one of the various crafters help u craft them on the day. Isn't too hard to get all the materials needed, have a week time each week to do that. Especially if wanting to have a gear, at least help the crafters out and be fair to others by gathering the materials needed. good luck to it molly :P.
