Will the upcoming expansion fix the hairstyles for the Viera?

Along with ponytail from gold saurce, there were +1 additional haircuts for both male and female Viera during media tour, which weren't available in benchmark and which are standard haircuts available for other races at the moment.

It doesn't really give us a lot of info, but considering that media tour usually is very limited in content it provides, there's a chance that Viera will have some (if not all) standard haircuts upon 6.0 release along with unclear amount of unlockable ones. At this point we can only wait and see ourselves in 36 days.

Cool. So, Kozakura's hair for females (I can't think of a more prominent character) and Emmanellain's hairstyle for males. It makes sense that they'd focus in on styles that sit quite high up and can easily cover the join with the ears.

I haven’t seen anybody anywhere mention it so I will: there’s a female viera sporting the “controlled chaos” Karen haircut in Old Sharlayan. She’s in the aetheryte creation room in a green jacket, lop ears. So, so far we know we’ll at least have the mgp ponytail, controlled chaos, and that one legacy hair shown in character creation. Yoship has also mentioned lightning hair offhand, so I think we’re going to be seeing a fair amount. Cautiously optimistic.

Well, we have at least ONE new hairstyle confirmed, specifically the ponytail from gold saucer. Hopefully more unlockable ones are added, especially the ones that come with glam sets from the cash shop.

Ever since I saw the concept art of that Ninja viera, I have been collecting SO many modern aesthetics.

I can deal with the situation about the hats, I don’t mind it that much.. circlets look lovely - but I really would like a more variety in hairstyles.

They added the Male Viera styles for the female Viera

I haven't watched the video but are you getting this statement from there or from the tweet? That's just saying (as seen in the screenshot) that male hairstyles have been added for the male Viera. You can see the selection and they haven't been added onto the female list. Just the standard selection and one extra from the universal list.
