I'm not sure what the patch cycle/timing is, but I would absolutely recommend saving as much as you can for a house when the Oceanic DC opens up. Whether you stay on a JP server or move to OCN DC, that'll be your best bet for getting a house as the new servers will have open land and people transferring to the OCN DC will be abandoning their plots. Be prepared to log in the moment servers come online when housing is available; it's going to be a race of epic proportions. Another tip, don't worry about getting your perfect plot, get whatever one you can afford. When it comes to housing, owning a plot, regardless of location, is the most important thing as it allows you to bypass the random purchase timer via relocation.

There's usually 16-17 weeks between major patches (Shadowbringers fell off the normal schedule thanks to COVID). If SE is able to get back on track in Endwalker, we'll likely see 6.1 in March.
