I had a run in delubrum on PLD where our party actually ended up being 5 tanks 2 healers and 1 dps. I pull the first boss. Near the end one of the other tanks in the party pulls it off me through hate generation. They apologize saying they didnt do it on purpose. I tell them I didn't care cause I wasn't intentionally trying to MT and that as long as its not running around killing squishy party members it didnt matter to me. The other tanks agreed. Then one of the healers said they prefer tanks bouncing hate around over having to raise party members every minute or 2 because they doomed themselves face tanking mechanics XD

Aaaaand I do my final roulettes only to have a tank seemingly rage quit because we couldn't get past the weird gimmick boss in Stone Vigil Hard. Which was rich, because I saw them basically stand there and do nothing while I was being chased around multiple times. Of course, when a replacement zones in after a wait, we immediately clear it.

Oh, and the Trial was Ultros and Typhon, because of course it was.

Today's weird, I'm writing it off on my taxes.

I've been getting level 50 Hildibrand questline trials a loooot lately. I really wish I wasn't, their gimmick is basically changing you to an animal for long periods of time so you can't do anything. I don't know why they thought the mechanic of "randomly not allowed to do rotation for half a minute" was interesting or fun.

You know those horror stories about tanks who are way undergeared for the dungeon they're in? Yeah, that was me a few days ago. Leveling roulette as DRK to make a final push to 80 (which I did succeed in after about two hours in Bozja and literally all of my non-80 roulettes) puts me into Malikah's Well.

In full Aug. Scaevan gear.

My first words: "crap I'm not geared for this lol." Fortunately, I know my limits. I kept my pulls limited to one group, spammed TBN when needed (which was effectively always), and trusted in the healer. I managed to not die, even to the bosses, and even managed to get a commendation at the end. I think the healer appreciated having a tank who handled being undergeared well.

The scene: Hades EX. Me and my static had to PF a tank, but it was fine... ish? Until it wasn't.

Our healer was having trouble not standing in my SE clock spot so I kept getting clipped by their AOE and nearly died every time. Alls well, though, after two or three runs they started moving back to their E clock spot and things were smooth on that end. BUT... the tanks oh god.

So we wiped to the 2nd phase meteors once. And then Lahabrea and Igeyorhm took us down twice. And then we wiped at 22% on the very last phase to the towers that tanks were supposed to soak.

D: I still haven't gotten my gwib.

What's y'all's opinions on using a tank LB when it's not needed during cinematic moments (I.E. the boss' ultimate attack in a fight that you're going to win anyways like Suzaku or Thordan)

I had someone get mad at me yesterday for using it but honestly I think it makes the fights be a little bit more epic/fun when they're just going to be a faceroll anyways

Eh. I think that'd be kinda funny. Especially with something like Thordan, it's not like you can actually wipe on him (and if you do, that'd just be impressive). I can see DPS getting mad the most, though. After all, how else will we barely see blue glowy effects around our characters for several seconds as AOEs start appearing under us?

The most ? moment I've had is when I was in a dungeon and right before I could LB the boss for its last chunk of HP, the tank used it up. When I asked, he said that it was almost dead anyway. And yeah, dude, I guess so.
