Back in the early seasons, they did ban some wintraders, but this was back when party feast had rewards, and only banned players from this mode. I saw speedhackers in season 1 feast, and they never got banned for it, that I know of. Put me right off doing any seasons after that.

    2. This thread gets pulled down and you get a mark against you because it has other players names in it (You may want to edit your screenshot to blur out the names)

Any kind of system in game that has exclusivity + seasonality together will be gamed to the fullest extent possible. Those people might disappear from the leaderboards but they still get their rewards. It's pathetic.
Well, from what I see from a percentage frontlines players who ignore objectives, aren't looking at the map, don't focus when targets are marked, etc they *may* need to "git gud". It's not unknown that a fair number queue just for the experience and don't give a damn about PVP. I'm not criticizing them, just pointing out that those people , and others who queue but don't really care about PVP- don't generally see an incentive to put in an effort, and like many things in life- if you don't try or listen to people who are good at something, generally you don't improve.

I wish I could say that I could propose some solution, unfortunately I can't. The advantage of the roulette system in the current form is that queue times are usually short, at least at the times when I'm joining for Frontlines. I would hate to have long queue times, I've had that even with pre-mades in other games and that really killed the a lot of the enjoyment for me.

All this evidence and pvp players will still scream from the rafters "There's no manipulation in the feast!"

I swear they're benefiting from it and simply don't want anyone else involved.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Well yeah I thought everyone knew this. No one in this game actually plays pvp, they just win trade.

    Not news.

I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Ultimate and Savage content are permanent additions to FFXIV and aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Despite that, some people supposedly pay ridiculous amounts of money in order to be 'carried' and acquire the associated titles, mounts and weapons.

Now, let's apply that mindset to content that is only available on a temporary basis. How much more money would the same players be willing to pay for rewards that are even rarer and more prestigious than those tied to Ultimate and Savage?

    Quite a bit, I'd wager.

Of course, finding evidence of it happening is tricky since naming and shaming isn't allowed and the dirty money is exchanged through third party platforms.

What's interesting is that many of the same players who proclaim that there is little to no win trading taking place also tend to be the same individuals who speak out in regards to past rewards being made available again. One might be inclined to wonder if such a stance is embraced because the alternative would eat into their significant profits.

Win trading in feast has been a very well known open secret in FF14 for years and I have yet to see the GM's deal with it. Nowwww has it been reported I doubt it.

Na there has always been manipulation, it's just that a lot of people who don't know anything about Feast think it's all win trading when it has only involved a very small minority of the top 100. Until recently anyway. But even now it's not that bad unless you play on Primal.

Oh absolutely. But when you're at platinum level and this sort of stuff happens, it just really leaves a sour impression on the mode as a whole. I wish the devs would look at Feast the way they looked at Diadem 1.0 and 2.0 and said "welp, this is a complete and utter failure. Time to torpedo it and start over." Which thankfully they're doing come Endwalker... but how that will play out remains to be seen.

Basically if it can be manipulated, it will be.

What I don't understand is that they can ban people in-game for something they broadcast on Twitch (like when people were harassing that Asmogold guy being on their mounts and blocking him), but when it comes to this kind of stuff on Discord and elsewhere, they can't touch it. Is it just because Twitch is a direct stream and Discord screenshots can be edited more easily? If someone were to take a video of the discord with their phone, would that make a difference?

No it is because one action is done actually within the FFXIV game itself which SE have control over and the others are not and therefore SE rightly does nothing about them. They are not there to police what people say or do on Discord, Snapchat or anywhere else.
