I haven't really looked into this at all, but the gender-locked items, is it just stuff that would cause clipping issues, or....?

I guess what I am getting at is, if they've got stuff gender-locked due to technical issues, then I totally understand. Graphical or programming hurdles might be the issue.

If they've got stuff gender-locked due to, "this is a man's hat," and "this is a woman's dress," then I'd say remove that nonsense.

I doubt clipping is an issue as you know au'ra horns clip with almost everything as does many of the tailed races... that said U can work with clipping by shortening hair/body etc

It's been said on many occasions that Square is a perfectionist when it comes to their glamour/cosmetics. I know there are some items that have ears clipping through, but otherwise you don't see much of it. They take their time making things and also I don't think unlocking the gender of gear is high on their priority list at the moment (unless we're all gonna get hit with it with EW which would be cool). Avoiding clipping is a valid reason in their case.

Ultimately though, this (or any of the other threads) have to hit some high page numbers for it to attract their attention.

shrug I mean that would explain why they need time to back and remove it from older items but it doesn't explain them adding new items with the gender lock on it

Sure. I've only ever played a male au'ra so far, but I get what you're saying.

Ya it really is, its a real disappointed they carry it on I mean if going back and changing them is to hard for whatever reason why not just make new ones of the old ones with no lock
