Dolls like that are a little off-putting for me. That's really all there is to it. It's nothing personal. I'm sure there's people out there gushing over this thing because they want it so bad, and that is fine. But that is definitely not me.

My aunt had a collection when I was growing up. I found them creepy then and I find them creepy now
I'm just some guy...
I have zero experience with ball-jointed dolls, let alone Dollfie Dream products. I'm also not bothered by the dolls, nor am I particularly attracted to them. However I've liked and appreciated action figures my son collects for games like WoW, they really look good standing on book and display shelves around our house.
So I wouldn't mind us getting an Yshtola doll - except this one does NOT look like her at all! When I first saw it, I felt, Aww, they'd missed the mark. But then that may not be the point of the whole thing - it could be like appreciating an impressionist painting, I guess. It's not photo realistic, but it's art, and it can be beautiful, one just needs to acquire the taste for it.![]()
It's not the ball joints. I don't know why people think this is a ball joint issue.
It's the facial structure and painting that are creepy, especially around the eyes. The Y'shtola face is especially creepy if you look at it in a close up (though that one you posted is looking similarly creepy). Honestly they look like wasted drug addicts.
I feel the same way about lalafell tbh
Yeah. Why don't the dolls smile? Why the stern, foreboding look? Methinks that contributes to the "creepy" feeling some people experience looking at them. It's not the ball joints. I don't know why people think this is a ball joint issue.

They should have done a statue of her instead of this doll.
one man's trash is another man's treasure
When I look at that doll, and the photo OP post, it look like a real human got turn into doll, their soul got drain out, and this give me the creepy feeling
I've never been bothered by dolls but I guess we wouldn't have movies or stories and whatnot like Annabelle, Child's Play and Robert the Doll, if a lot of people weren't.
Personally, it wouldn't be worth the price to me but I understand why it's so expensive. There are collector's items of the horror/occult persuasion that I might consider paying that much to own.
There are people creeped out or afraid of just about anything out there. It really just boils down to how they handle it. I mean there are people out there that suffer from hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia but no one really does anything for them otherwise they wouldn't have named it that...
