There's no slowly about it. One of the main selling points of EverQuest II, which came out *seventeen years ago* in 2004 was that from the get-go there was solo, group, and raid content and players could partake to the level they desired. This idea has just grown over the nearly 20 years since.

Each person has their own desire for the game. There is naught but to be self evidently selfish. I want to play the game I want to play, which is what SE actively offers (you can absolutely play FFXIV in a hyper casual get the /vast/ majority of content way), and I will naturally continue to push the way that the game /already/ supports. Although I don't actively like disturbing other people's methods within a reasonable bound. Like someone may think the social part would be WAY better without DF, and maybe they would be right in some level, but I've a non-budge stance on the existence of that due to QoL. DF or "I will not be playing it".

To another post you made about waste of resources. Ultimate is completed by a fraction of the playerbase, a massive minority. Waste of resources? No... it helps what is a theme-park mmo appeal to a very wide range of players. Without ultimate there is a real lack of draw for the most hardcore of hardcore, even if they're self evidently a minority (even in the Japanese community which seems to work together better). If there was a way to snap fingers and make the ENTIRE GAME solo yet do absolutely no damage to resource costs and player opportunity, you would be a huge fool not to do so because it would open the game up further. Naturally that whole finger snappy thing is impossible.. so one does have to be careful.

Theme park mmo is going to be a.. "theme park" mmo. It is only natural to see all these games, the massive majority of popular mmos (are theme park), to do such a concept as allowing a huge array of people to effectively enjoy the game (from the insanely casual to the very time rich and hardcore).
