    2. It shouldn't make people wait for you, they would get someone else queued into their roulette in your place and you would be bumped back a few in the priority list. At least that's how the suggestion was meant to sound like. Doesn't mean that its workable practically speaking obviously. Perhaps the issue here is that I made a suggestion to the problem instead of just proposing the issue and facilitating a discussion about potential solutions besides the "deal with it" response.

    4. Care to explain how we can check that? I was referring to the suggestions we submit through the in game help desk suggestion box.

    6. I tested as it was part of the previous person's reply and all it did was say that I had the item in my inventory. My suggestion was to have it so that you can find the item in your inventory. This would be especially helpful if you have a cluttered inventory. Again, not saying it is practically achievable, but was just thinking out loud.

    7. I do have that set up. Perhaps I need to reprioritize the buttons I have and reorganize instead, and just manage with what is available.

    8. True, they are not that important, and even for a player like myself that comes from a game that has chat bubbles, a few days without it in ffxiv and I actually forgot about them. The suggestion was just to have an optional setting to cater to people that would prefer them.

    9. I understand.

    11. I appreciate that perspective.

    12. Last person said that it was misused as well, I am curious to know how.

    16. I had to use google/wiki search as an alternative, as you rightly explained. My suggestion was to have such a change be incorporated in game as a qualify of life improvement. It would be very convenient, especially for new players who are overwhelmed with 4 expansions worth of side content.

    20. Noted, care to give your opinion about suggestion no. 30 as well?

    22. Agreed

    24. Suggestion appreciated

    26. Perhaps that's true.

    29. Noted, and thinking about it based on your reply and the previous person, I find myself in agreement.

    B. That could be mitigated by simply changing up the volume of ingame sound bars (i.e. Sound Effects, System Sounds, etc.). But as the previous person said, this is probably not a priority for FFXIV since there are a ton of external alternatives. I just personally like proximity voice chat which is why I included it.

Generally speaking, based on the two replies received in the thread so far, it seems that the limiting nature of the FFXIV game as a system (from a coding perspective) is a major factor in why the game is unable to implement many of the suggestions. At least that is what I summarized from the two responses. Is there any plan for them to try and address that? is it even possible/feasible to address at this point?

Thank you for sharing your opinion.

A lot of the game is built on what came before it. At some point they will have to address things (and they are - with the belt removal, HQ item gathering removal, and the stat squish) but larger issues like reworking Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium requires more resources and time taken away from other things they want to do - like keeping up with their predictable planned update schedule and thinking up new ideas. Things in the past have been done to older areas - like adding flying to all ARR areas, but it takes time and money and manpower. Even with XIV being as popular as it is - they still have a budget assigned to them by Square Enix that they have to work within. Not all problems can be solved just by throwing money/time/people at it either.

It's a two step process... /isearch let's you know you have the item somewhere in your inventory
you can then select the item in the chat log, access the submenu, then Search for Item
this will bring up a more detailed window that specifies which of your storages the item is in... and iirc, in the chat log it will specify which tab of that inventory as well.

For example... the window will show that your retainer has x amount of item, in the chat log it will say your retainer name plus the page/tab# of their inventory where the item is located.

Additionally, /isearch works with partial entries as well... so if you can't remember the exact spelling, but are positive you have something, you can troubleshoot by using less characters.

For example... Mythrite Ore, could /isearch "Mythrite Ore", /isearch myth, or /isearch ore to try and get the item listing in chat log to then use Search for Item on.

Ah yes, I use that system as well. I was wondering if it was possible to add a search bar in the inventory window. I think the only reason I am suggesting this is because I was so use to having it as a QoL feature in other MMOs that I have played. Based on multiple responses here, it seems that when you get use to FFXIV, you don't feel like you need it (at least that's the vibe I'm getting).

Some of it is self-imposed limits, like the game is capable of a lot but limits itself on purpose so that it works on PS4. Some of it is because it's not a priority (new patch content is) or the human resource cost would be too great. Sometimes doing your suggestion would cause another problem that you can't see.

The spaghetti code response gets thrown around but any game of this age would accumulate it. It's unavoidable that as time progresses they want to do something different from the initial design but the earlier designs didn't account for it, so it forces them to work around it or change it.

The game has a lot of technical debt due to the accelerated relaunch of 2.0. They don't currently have the manpower to do a major rework while also releasing expansions and patches as normal. As it stands, they make updates behind the scenes where they can.

True, your opinion is consistent with the feedback from everyone else.
