You're making it sound so negative when you say things like '' generic super sexy model '' I've never understood why people can't talk about this without sounding like they're being so negative about it.
Or that at least seems to be the intent especially in the context of the rest of what you're saying.
Like I dunno why you think that designing '' conventionally attractive '' women is '' easy-mode '' either while what you like is supposedly higher effort, I dunno where you get that from and it seems like it's meant to make what you want sound '' superior ''.
It's a really weird stereotype people have of character design where making '' conventionally attractive women '' is just done out of '' laziness '' and that it's supposedly easy and low effort.
    It's not.
In many cases especially for male artists it can actually be harder because you're actually designing things that you don't know.
Things like makeup alone is actually pretty hard to do well in art especially if you don't use it yourself same with hairstyles and softer faces and less sharp lines etc.

The same thing goes for the refrigerator thing, I just don't understand why people can't talk about this without framing things like this.
It always feels like people just have the one thing they want and then they treat everything else like '' lesser ''.
Like as much as you want to talk about pressuring it sounds like you want to do some pressuring here yourself.

On another note, I ordered the other available artbooks a while ago and did indeed see more art of the Au'Ra and as I suspected the one image people kept spreading around was just that one image amongst others.
And the others are far more similar to what we actually got.
Altho I don't believe that these are the only ones either just the ones that made it into the artbook but still.
If you watch shortly before too where you can see the male Au'Ra there's even concepts of them looking like straight up Lizards like in The Elder Scrolls.

Same could be said about the people who put down the FemRoes and call them ugly, say they are built like refrigerators, call them unattractive, say that no woman looks like this, basically saying there is only one right way for a woman to look. That to, is negative. And I am STRONGLY, against this mindset in Design, and in Social Structure.

I call it easymode because if you look at most Female character designs, they are almost always designed to be slim, and sometimes look like hot super models. When there could be varying designs, almost always, female characters are made to be slim and "Conventionally attractive". Now, Im not knocking it exactly, but my main point is everybody does this, and falls back on it, and very often dont try new things; new bodytypes. Yes I do think its a degree of laziness, but No I dont think ANY bodytype is superior...thats not my point at all.
There have been many times people have said "The FemHroths should follow suit to the MaleHroths and have the Roe body." While people counter with its unattractive and not popular. Even if this is true to some extent, why shouldn't it be given a chance? Why does it just have to be the same bodytype we already have across 90% of the Female options currently in the game?

Sorry to ignore your 2nd part, but it doesn't relate to my argument/points. Or I guess the conversation.

Not that I disagree I would like to see different body types across the board. A chubby male and female body type would be fun to play as. Miss my ToR body types. That said I do get where people come from why put in the resources for coustlmzation options that do not appeal to a larger portion of the player base.

This is part of the reason I will be shocked if fem do not look far less beastly then their male counter parts. If they do I will be pleasantly surprised.

I think the art looks good. I am willing to pay SE for a conventionally attractive female Hrothgar that doesn't look like a she-hulk but I will not spend money on the fantasia and potential boost(s) for such an alt if it looks bad. Combine that with hairstyles locked to their faces and you have the perfect recipe for venture that won't make back its development costs. The FFXIV playerbase largely does not gravitate towards huge hulking races. For all the "love" femroe get they are still extraordinarily rare to see in game.

When I think of what a female lioness race should be like, I picture something more along the lines of the artwork which gives could work just as easily for a huntress as well as queen. I do not picture female tauren FFXIV edition or Abby from the last of us part 2. I don't particularly care either for the "diversity" argument because all the "diversity" in the world isn't going to automatically sell fantasias.

so apparently the only option that doesn't "stress the newbies" is either pressing 1211111111, or do nothing at all.

If they can accommodate both sides and make both beasty and attractive face options, that'd be amazing, we all win.
If it's the last race they need to go all out and not cop out by playing it safe. But I think they will do that sadly. The demon concept for Au Ra was so good but they went with the much safer lizard hyur option.

I really hope they can accentuate the females by giving them feral lion/cat features such as claws and fangs. I still think DC Comics Cheetah and OG Thundercats's Cheetara is a good starting point.

The genderbent Kimahri Ronso fanart showing what a attractive Ronso female could look like has been a favorite of mine especially since the female Ronso in FFX are so ugly to look at.

But judging how they handled the claws on the male Hrothgar I don't have high hopes for a "beast" race.

I think Femroes are sexy as hell with their dimensions. It took me a bit to adjust to the flat nose top, but once I did...mmm mmm good. With that said, I would very much prefer that Hrothgals not be Femroes with cat ears; we've got Femroes already. The fully-furred Hrothguys deserve fully-furred Hrothgals and I think the player base deserves the option as well.
