Yeah. I'd assumed at one point the 'garlean expansion' would involve us siding with 'good garleans' like the Populares against 'bad garleans' to bring about reform, but it seems to me it's likely to be similar except helping them retake their country from Fandaniel/Zenos. I mean, if Garlemald is going to be a zone there have to be at least a few small towns/outposts there for aetherites and quest hubs right? I doubt the writers would just wipe everyone out. Even if there's no hub city there there's got to be 'something.'

I am still holding out hope for something similar to the Doman Enclave in Garlemald as with only 1 zone tied I am worried the Garlean story will feel rushed or under developed or not have a satisfying payoff after all these years of build up. Art work for Aetherytes has already been leaked so those of us able to glimpse them have an idea of what they will look like. I also doubt they would have such a significant part of the demo being us helping the Garlean forces holding out against the Terminus beasts if it was not a plotline in Endwalker.

If "towns" like Wright can exist so close to Eulmore then you'd think something similar could happen with Garlemald.

I'm envisioning a refugee camp with soldiers and citizens who haven't been tempered, gathered in ruins of an outlying town that only has an aetheryte standing.

I'm fairly pessimistic about Endwalker, to the point where I'm no longer 'worried' about that and have just made peace with the fact we're hitting a Stormblood Writ Large problem, where every single region that gets to appear in Endwalker gets undercooked.

I'd actually be certain Garlemald gets the rawest deal in that, since it's not even getting a city zone and I estimate will also have to shoulder the burden of 'and now we have to go to the moon'. Although I was excited about going to Thavnair, which is in a weirder spot; we're two months out from the expansion and we don't even have a clue why we're going there in the first place, so it's probably gonna feel weirdly tacked-on.

I'm assuming we're going to use Thavnair to assess the tower situation in depth as its remote location would make it difficult for the Telophoroi to mobilize forces to defend it and it's already indirectly confirmed that the tower in question is the first Endwalker dungeon.

The thing about that, though, is that Vauthry's form of control wasn't ambient magic or anything, it was specifically focused into the food he was distributing.

I meant that if a town that's barely scraping by can exist near a city like Eulmore then it's possible that people could have fled from the capital and make a barely could be called a village thing. Since I'm sure people would have wanted to leave with the short 2nd war of succession happening seemingly right inside the city.

That's what I'm thinking as well. That there could be a refugee type camp somewhere nearby.

I shouldn't have read that tweet about how it's believed that Emet is dead. The Dev team can't go around and leave threads like that around. Just makes my an untempered Emet in a clone body even if it's just to sass the WoL idea be kept alive.

I don't know what tweet you're talking about, but I've got bad news for you: it's 'believed that Emet-Selch is dead' in the same way it is believed that grass grows.

Wouldn't it be weird if Emet comes back, like we "killed him" on the First, but he shows up during SoS mid fight. So, I'm wondering if his ghost will play a part in Endwalker. Always had a feeling that there's a form of Future Emet that realized his error and helped the engineers from the same source future to create rift traveling and soul summoning. We know the alt timeline the 8th umbral calamity waged so much destruction and the First was consumed, but what if that caused other irreversible damage ruining the whole rejoining in it's entirety?
