Well... they're lions.
Particularly given the mural, and the "non-editable" approach to Hrothgar manes so far, there is a reasonable chance they will stick to their guns on that design and not give them hair but perhaps unique headdresses instead.
I kinda doubt that'd happen though. Even female Ronso, the race they are loosely based off of, have hair. But maybe there will be some face/head options that have headdresses tied to them.
Honestly I think it would be really cool if SE gave us some concept art or a clear vision on fem hrots before 7.0/whenever they are released, I think it would be really fair tbh
They definitely will, just not anytime soon I don't think
Yoshi P Already said that they was going to introduce the Female version later on.
Yes, but once again Super Vague on what he meant by that and there has been no clarification if that means AFTER Endwalker or Mid Endwalker.
Heck, it could be BEFORE Endwalker and we might see them at the Next Event. But again, just the Super Vague Reveal: "Don't worry guess, they are coming"
(Although t be fair "Koji" said that, at the showcase)
I think that's because of the whole face attached to the hairstyle thing. They cant even change their hair without paying not to mention the no unlockable hairstyles/hats. Don't think it has to do with popularity. When SHB launched, they were everywhere.
It's reasons like this I don't like strict lore as it limits rather than enhances the story. They also stated in the lore female Viera rarely leave their homes, however the main city Crystarium is full of them in the First. There are also some in Eulmore and other areas around the First. In the Source, I think we've only seen them in Bozja so far.I always laugh when people bring in lore about this. The lore states they are incredibly rare. Assume this is a single player game. In the story, you are one of those rare amount. You may be the only male Viera or female Hrothgar many of these NPCs will ever meet. This game's lore goes with the assumption that you are in a single player game, and thus your playable character is the only one that matters. No lore has been broken, at all.
I agree with your statement but the world is filled with other adventurers around you (other PC's) in the lore as well, so they can't just be ignored. Even though we're all the WoL in our stories, I think there's an assumption the other PC's are the adventurers that help you on raids/dungeons etc. A lot of them are viera, miqote, hrothgar, etc. which would technically conflict with the lore.

Square should definitely hire you for the concept art. Some would say that I'm a furry, but you know what? I'm cool with that. Like, I do love the Hrothgars since they look the most beastly while others look pretty humanoid or demi-humans(non-Humans who look very Human if you will). Finished playing FFX via Xbox game pass, and I love the Ronso for the sole reason that I love anthro cats(thanks to shows like thunder cats and SWAT Katz).I sketched out what I thought female hrothgar may look like on ms paint and also put down my thoughts. I'm not saying they should look like this or anything. This is just a guess from what we've seen so far from murals and concept art.

There will be several facial options to choose from of course, but I'm thinking they will be a little bit more delicate compared to the males. I think they will still look feral, and will probably tower over most characters. The head in the concept art looked a bit small (the lack of hair didn't help either), but I'm not too worried about it. I think the finished model will look just fine.
I don't think they will be big and bulky like some of the other art in this thread, but I do think that looks really cool and wouldn't be against it. They will probably be feminine/curvy.
