Chocobo Reraise seems to be broken

Picked it thinking 60 stamina recovery sounded good but i have noticed after a few races now, it doesn't work.
Each time i hit 0 stamina there is no recovery, nothing.

Also, Haven't been able to find an answer too this.
After you release forward to accelerate, do you keep that speed? because im noticing when i stop accelerating, all of a sudden everyone behind me passes like i have slowed down?

Its been a while but I don't think its accelerate, you have a base speed and sprint. If you watch the NPCs, their running animation changes showing if they're sprinting or not. Also, not every chocobo is identical, there's some small variations in speed compared to each other and yours.

Every chocobo has a top speed (based on Maximum Speed rating) that it takes them a few seconds to reach. A higher Acceleration rating reduces the time it takes to reach this top speed. If an obstacle or item slows you down below this top speed, you will have to spend a few seconds accelerating back to it. One of the possibilities is that you have a higher acceleration but they have a higher max speed, so you'll be faster than them until they they reach your top speed. Then they'll gain on you as they accelerate the rest of the way to their top own speeds.

You go faster when you are lathered, but being lathered drains your stamina faster, so pressing back until lathered disappears is a decision you can make to save stamina. At a certain point in the race it can be worth staying lathered because it's unlikely to drain to 0 unless a lot of unfortunate events happen.

Choco Ease (standing in purple on purpose) and Choco Potion (second action once you breed it) are what I use which is actually a lot more than I need. I typically end a race with 10-20% stamina even if I get attacked with stamina reductions all through the race.
