Jepp. Asmongold mentioned this in his stream yesterday. If the players have the opportunity to optimize away the fun of a game then they will do it. And because the game is not fun anymore they will stop playing it and blame the game company that they have build those opportunities into the game. It is very important that the optimal gameplay is also fun.
Cheers
Just ask yourself if it's really worth spending about an hour just to get 300 poetics, 100 allegory, and 50 revelation tomes. As well as a little bit of gil, I guess.
What'll you be doing with those tomestones. Do you need them so damn bad? I guess it makes sense if you're starting off or gearing up a new job. But for most veterans?
"Oh but, you can trade those tomestones for items that can then be sold on the marketboard, and make gil off of them!" Really? Yay! More gil for you to sit on and do absolutely nothing with. lol
Honestly, it isn't too hard to see Main Scenario roulette is a waste of time. Just don't do it.
Go grab a drink, change laundry, hit up the bathroom, put some dishes away, troll forums, pull up youtube, close your eyes for 2-6 minutes depending on CS....you have endless options. Having to bother with a login screen and queue seem less ideal, but hey, to each their own.

better idea, people who are not new can just skip the cutscene, while others cant. They would miss the fights, but get to see cutscenes
I would just increase the speeds of the cutscenes, nothing so large so it looks odd, but maybe like a 1.5-2% increase.
