In four person content, not much use for them.
In 8 person content it's meant to let the other healer KNOW that you've got the rez. (Course, now there's the revive flag on people, making this less important)
In 24 person content, same as 8, but since your not doing it in alliance chat, there's 16 people who won't know who MIGHT also try to rez, making it even more marginal in use.

I'm pretty sure I did like half the damage in the 30 minute heroes gauntlet I did yesterday, the healer used like 5 malefics throughout the whole dungeon and never used their cards and spammed aspected and normal benefic even when everyone was at 100% health, all but one class at 80, too
mobs dying super super super slowly made me think the BLM did not know how to play their class either and the only saving grace and reason for the run was the tank who was the only one that seemed to know what they were doing, judging by their CD and ability usage
should've just left in hindsight, tbh

Yeah I just kinda find it odd if people are paying more attention to the chat than what's happening in front of them ( and the healthbars with buffs/ debuffs etc if you're a healer ) xD...

I died to Searing Winds in Ifrit EX approximately 12 times as the healer hardcasted in the middle of the arena.

This was doubled down by them blaming DPS not downing Nails fast enough. Which makes sense when you kill the DPS with Winds.

...I got three commendations at the least, possibly because I kept asking them to go to the marked spot.

Well, no, but we've wiped twice because you've ran out of mana seven times and have been casting cure 1 and stone 2. You haven't popped Lucid Dreaming ONCE, you've let your freecures, that I assume you were fishing for, go to waste. If me going "Healerc cure 2 has more potency, try to use that instead of cure 1," sends you into such a state of annoyance that you have to say "Gee thanks, I didn't know. Maybe you should be healer then?" then maybe... do your job?

Well, no, but we've wiped twice because you've ran out of mana seven times and have been casting cure 1 and stone 2. You haven't popped Lucid Dreaming ONCE, you've let your freecures, that I assume you were fishing for, go to waste. If me going "Healerc cure 2 has more potency, try to use that instead of cure 1," sends you into such a state of annoyance that you have to say "Gee thanks, I didn't know. Maybe you should be healer then?" then maybe... do your job?

That reminds me of a recent case where someone was standing in front of the boss as MNK constantly and dying to cleaves.
It's like they get really embarrassed and then they're so childish that instead of accepting the help and correcting the issue they just stubbornly keep doing the same thing lol.

Like bro, it's not a personal attack.
Refusing to correct the issue is 500 times more embarrassing.

That reminds me of a recent case where someone was standing in front of the boss as MNK constantly and dying to cleaves.
It's like they get really embarrassed and then they're so childish that instead of accepting the help and correcting the issue they just stubbornly keep doing the same thing lol.

Like bro, it's not a personal attack.
Refusing to correct the issue is 500 times more embarrassing.

This, 100%. That same run, I had a fresh newbie tank who took everything I said and corrected themselves. Tank stance? Off at first, but turned on the moment I piped up.

I forgot to mention this is in AV…

He pulled the first room entirely and then when we wiped he literally *asked* if he did something wrong, so I said “Hug the left wall, dw about it.” And guess what? He did. Before every boss he waited until someone said mechanics. He mightve been a bit slow to do them but he did them. He turned the boss around when asked, and at the end he said “Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it!”

It’s not like I was snarky, or was ordering the healer to do anything, I legit just offered up a solution to their mana woes and their cure potency problems.

I had this one healer in a Stone Vigil run who had literally accidentally removed LD from their bars at some point, gone on a break from the game, came back, and had forgotten it existed. Yet his use of Freecures and so on was actually so on-point that we still speedran the damn thing, although with me actually being under pressure for once as a tank (and him milking every bit of his mana he could, with some really great strategic sense). One of the most fun runs I'd had in a long time.

I almost regretted that we found out what the issue was and thereby allowed him to Cure II spam and, thereby, me to go back to normal well-performed-but-not-remotely-scary-or-exciting tanking. At least on the last boss I still got to play around with actively dodging Frost Breathand LoSing Rime without uptime lost -- you know, the other little joys in life.

Was this recently? I ask because I'm least comfortable tanking and usually ask for advice from the party while doing it. So, it could have been me.

In Delubrum Reginae, where I was playing DRG. We get to the ghost boss, and midway to the ghost's knockback cast, I get ready to position myself to get yeeted off. As the cast goes off, I finish my high jump animation and am ready to get knocked back into the moving donut AoE mechanic. I get knocked back with everyone else as the high jump finishes ... only to land in front of the boss.

I had a huge OWO moment since I was not expecting to directly avoid the knockback displacement with high jump. Thankfully, I could time my elusive jump to land in the donut AoE after, but I was really worried I was goanna mistime it and then die to two AoEs back to back, haha.
