That final cutscene still tugs at my heartstrings, though.

As for most powerful thing, I wanted to point toward Ultima, but neither spell nor high seraph proved to be anything but disappointing.
Midgardsormr is probably up there, and he's definitely not "spent." He's just napping. Source: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes.../#sidestory_08 Fun fact: This story also mentions the replica Omega.
However, I would still say the greatest threat we're aware of would probably whatever star was at war with the Dragonstar, if they're still around (I don't recall). Omega is scary, but it's just a weapon.
OMG is Omega, as seen here: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes.../#sidestory_03 . Instead of dying, it found a new body to use. The body is also kind of useless, so unless OMG dies and Omega finds a new body to snatch, the robot is stuck on a toy for a while.

And I'm of the opinion Omega's masters are dead by now, as the lyrics from From the Heavens and eScape make it seem, and also as Midgardsormr implies here:

I thought so, honestly the cutscene from OMG's point of view at the end of the Omega story would have felt really weird if it wasn't supposed to be Omega inside of it.

Midgardsomr ran away from Omega, and Omega was responsible for imprisoning Primal Bahamut.

Koryu was so powerful that even with 4 Auspices and the Warrior of Light, it was deemed preferable to seal him away rather than fight him.

So I'd place my bets on Omega and Koryu as the strongest beings in the setting (besides possibly Hydaelyn and Zodiark, though we have little context for how powerful they were).

It's not clear whether Omega was clearly more powerful than Midgardsormr, back during the war on the Dragonstar. Omega admits that it had never defeated Midgardsormr before, but as you mentioned, Midgardsormr did travel all the way across the galaxy to Hydaelyn in order to not have to deal with Omega anymore.

And by the time we meet both Midgardsormr and Omega, they were both at a fraction of their original power. And even at that fraction of power, Omega still managed to seal away Primal Bahamut, or rather allow the Allagans to seal away Primal Bahamut while on basically Safe Mode.

Personally my impression is that if Midgardsormr and Omega were to fight at full power when they were at their peaks, it could go either way. And at this point, both are so tired and familiar with each other that they can only summon enough motivation to snark at each other.

Omega says that the contest ended prematurely, and it failed to bring down Midgardsormr(failed to kill or capture). It goes on to say that Midgardsormr would only accept a fight to the death. Meaning Middie was on the back leg when either he fled or they got interrupted. On the back leg enough that he gave up on his fury/honor for the good of what was left of the dragon race.

Also, in context of the fights, the fight with Omega, either format, is more difficult with more powerful attacks than Dragonstar Midgardsormr.

Midgardsormr was also protecting the seven eggs at the time which is why he fled. Chances are he could have destroyed Omega.

my vote is for Sabik, whose heart powered the ultima weapon. as lahabrea continually lectures me, the allagans barely scratched the surface of what that thing could do

If Midgardsormr could have destroyed Omega Weapon, then he would have. He fled because Dragon Kind was facing genocide in addition to planetary destruction.

The best argument to make is to say that Midgardsormr had to contend with Omega and the rest of the civilization behind Omega. If he could have beaten Omega, he likely would have been so spent as to make the victory meaningless. Which means, at best, they are at parity.

Not knowing exactly where he was going, Midgardsormr struck out into space with hope in his heart that he could not only get away, but that he could find somewhere to continue dragon kind.

Kind of unrelated to the topic at hand, but Tiamat says in 5.55 (?) "When our own star faced annihilation, Hydaelyn granted us sanctuary", which implies Hydaelyn called Midgardsormr while he was still on the Dragonstar. So it wasn't a coincidence and he knew where to go, and Hydaelyn knew Omega was coming too. Pretty interesting stuff.

I'm also curious about Omega referring to Midgardsormr as the "nemesis of my world" and Midgardsormr heavily implying Omega's planet is gone in a provoking tone, but I think 6.0 will answer that for us.
