Here is the thing, i do remember this post a while ago. However i could not remember on how it was described. Yes they did look into this at the time however like i mentioned before the lala mods are gone expect the sfw ones which are adorable. They did not mentioned any of the mount, minions etc.I’ve seen it happen a few times, and someone made a forum post about it happening to their character, about it being used for harassment.
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...out-of-control
To me they way to into in the game if that makes any sense. For me i need to see more if they where. I am not dismissing it, but you need to show screenshots of this.
Another note is that they are comparing pixels to real life. "Secondly, to all those saying it's not harassment and it's just pixels. Why would it be any different if someone posted an irl nude of me on their tumblr? Because it's digital it's suddenly acceptable and I should just get over it? Some of us do like to treat our characters as extensions of ourselves."
Here is the thing about that, lets say you had a picture of me in real life with no name. You can run programs/software to find my name, address, socials etc.. That can do more harm to you then people realize compared to playing a game with fictional characters.
Now they post a picture of the harassments on page two, but however i feel like that was somebody trolling on forums. I remember they did had there main character tied to the forums but as you can see it a lvl 1 gld. As someone mentioned you made yourself public.
Once again as a mentioned before unless you as a person seek these things you will notice it.
One more thing . notice how the op and the aura just stopped talking about this all together and will return with remarks

for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
Player
tl:dr Please and thank you.

The Asmo video certainly wasn't the start of this, but it's nice to see we still have portions of the community willing to demonize ERPers through hypotheticals, misunderstandings of ratings systems, shirking of parental responsibilities, and talk of mods as if they mysteriously install themselves or that any rational person would think (artificial) CP is tolerated in an MMO.
There are some very basic parenting tips to instill upon your children if you're going to let them internet unsupervised:
1) Don't give out personal information.
2) Don't believe everything you see.
3) Don't click random links or go to unapproved sites.
4) Don't download/install anything you're asked/told that you weren't implicitly seeking to begin with and ideally with permission/confirmation beforehand.
5) If in doubt, close the window, walk away, and/or get the parent.
6) Assure them they will occasionally see bad/uncomfortable things through no fault of their own and that they can talk about it if they need to.
This is internet 101, folks. If your default response is that kids lie and will never listen to their parents, I'd be arguing you should never have a child, as that temptation to stray reflects a distrust in your authority and how you've raised them up to that point. Any form of RPing, be it simply seeing or even participating, is not going to endanger them as long as they stick to the above. And assuming you aren't a puritan hardarse that's done their research on a hobby, you could even go the extra mile and maturely explain what ERPing is so they know it if they see it.
Otherwise, the rest of the world doesn't need to walk on eggshells because some folks created an epidemic of villainy cast by a demographic they don't like in their minds. SE and the proper authorities have their own means to do what they need to. Trying to go scorched earth on any and all consenting adults is actually a detriment to that process via distraction and inundation.
That is the thing many here to expect the community to be responsible for their children. It is unfortunate but many do use video games as a form of baby sitter.Outside of having someone monitor the minor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with 366 on leap years nothing can be done to fully proactively protect people from that type of online content other than going someplace where the internet doesn't exist. Sounds like you're still dealing with people that want everyone else to essentially raise their child for them. This IMO stems from the spreading of people that don't want responsibility the moment it becomes inconvenient and don't follow rules, laws, regulations if they find it inconvenient unless they think they'll get caught an punished. And even then if the punishment isn't severe enough they'll do it anyway.
Some food for thought. The more effort someone puts into trying to hide things from someone the more curious that person is going to get about the thing you're trying to keep from them. This effect is even stronger in children as they tend to be curious in general. As such it would probably be better overall if parents were just upfront with their children and simply made sure to properly explain these things so they're understood instead of just trying to hide things from them or cover them up with ridiculous made up stories. Most children are far smarter than people give them credit for and will understand how to handle even things like NSFW and ERP activities encountered online if someone actually takes the time to provide that knowledge to them instead of trying to distract them with whatever brain melting activity is popular at the time in their age demographic so they stay quiet and out of the way.
And we circle still around that xD
Anti-Modder: "Mods are against ToS, and some more than likely illegal in some regions."
Anti-Erper: "Engaging in ERP in 14 is against ToS, and is not very smart due to being a game in which minors can play leading you to an illegal situation."
The Defense Force: "We are not raising your kids! You are shirking you responsibility! Online interactions not rated by the ESRB, checkmate puritans!"
Anti-Modder/Anti-Erpers: "..."
This dude was already discovered to be some incel who got rejected by a girl he liked who happened to be a modder. It's...hilariously sad.
EDIT: Not sure why it didn't quote the original post, but I'm referring to this: https://imgur.com/a/eUfCq2i
His twitter was later banned or disabled. Either way, there's not really much of a thing as a "mod hunter", and most modders (as far as I understand) aren't part of a satanic cult to try and get pedophiles to touch children playing the game.
To be honest, my feelings on mods can be summed up in the same way my feelings on RP and ERP are: Right Here.
