There's a reason why laws broken by children aren't applied the same way as they are applied to adults - they're not fully developed on a physical, mental or emotional level. So blaming children, even if they lie, isn't the right call as the guilty party is always the individual or groups propositioning people for adult activities in cases where they cannot prove that someone is not a minor.

The blame isn't applied to the children, it's applied to their parents.

Adults are allowed to have adult conversations with other adults on the internet; no age verification legally or ethically required. An unsupervised child lying his way into the situation is 100% a parental failing, and that's where all of the responsibility lies.

Thing is people shift the blame from the poor parenting to the adult that was operating not on the assumption but based on the information given to them by the person was truthful.

Parents failed that child cause they did not teach them right. Too many people hide behind not being fully developed on a mental or emotional level. My social and emotional scores fall in the level 1 range but even I know lying to people for personal gain is wrong. If my parents instilled that into a child with a non neurotypical I am sure parents should be able to do the same to a neurotypical child.

Though that means parents would have to accept that children's actions are a reflection of their own selves.
