I'm more in favor of unpredictable damage that needs healing over more dps spells.
I want to heal, not play green dps. On top of it, I have enough buttons.

Get ready to get attacked by 85% of the healer community who loves the green dps and wants actual healer dps rotations in Endwalker. Just saying.
I mean, considering that healing in the game at higher levels is the exact opposite of what a healer is supposed to do (i.e. heal as absolutely as little as possible) we as the Veteran community have just moved on and accepted that healing will never be meaningful in the game. It was in 2.0, but the second 3.0 hit, the game stopped being about each individual role performing their designated function and more about just do damage. The fact that the gate to entry of Savage completely destroyed long standing statics due to it completely and totally requiring Healer DPS, we just learned to accept it.
Meaning all the Veteran Healers, and myself, have left IS dps. It was the only thing that felt meaningful to being a healer, as being more efficient at the role opened up more opportunities to do so. Hence why we complain that our rotations for DPS are so lacking, because they ARE. If Healers did what we were actually supposed to in this game according to the role and the devs, Healers would just stand around doing absolutely nothing 98% of the time.
Decidedly not fun.
Why does having a robust, interactive, interesting damage kit threaten the "healers should heal ONLY" crew so much?
Because healers who only heal and green dps healers are touchy subjects for some. Plus I’ve seen both sides get brutally verbally attacked by the opposite of each other trying to prove they are right.
This debate has been going on for years now. Green dps healers say healers who only cast cure/benefic/adlo when the tank takes a single hit are bad. Healers who only heal say green dps healers forget they are healers because they focus mainly on dps and cause deaths/raid wipes.
There is no ending to it. Yoshi P says healers should heal but green dps healers say increase the damage taken so they have more to do then just standing around waiting for massive damage to happen.
See what I mean? This debate is never ending.
nobody forces curebots to press the extra dps buttons, but everyone else is forced to get a RSI from mashing broil all fightBecause healers who only heal and green dps healers are touchy subjects for some. if you want to please as much people as possible, giving a better dps kit is the best option.
That’s how you and some others feel and that’s totally okay. I’m sure the devs as well as Yoshi P knows they will never please everyone especially on this topic. It is what it is.
That still bothers me so bad. They made us use only 1 dps button to make healer dps more easy and the healbots never gonna use it anyway, so they just punished healer player trying to play close too the skill ceiling. It’s just insane. Just give healer way more dps button and like you said it won’t effect healbots
I prefer less dps and more hectic, chaotic damage going out. Constant massive raidwides. Mana regen freezes that requires you to pick your mana use wisely(think hard mode vezax in Ulduar from wow). My favorite raiding healing memories involve last man standing kills and "healer is sucking fumes because healing requirements are do high". Debuffs that require funneling heals because they'll kill if you don't.
My absolute favorite fights to heal in any game have hectic, unpredictable damage that you literally cannot dps in after the first couple of minutes because the damage output is RIDICULOUS. Teaches you real quick how to manage cool downs and avoid avoidable damage because getting hit by both WILL kill you.
Healers dpsing should be a thing, but it shouldn't be a thing to the degree of complex dps rotations and a boatload of healing spells. I literally have no room on my bars for more spells. The dps ones would be the first to go.
If I'm getting new spells I want external defensives, think wow's Ironbark or pain suppression, over EQ2 clerics reactive healing spells. Hell I'm sure you green mages would love the second one. Heals for X every time target takes damage. More time for holy spam.
I'm sorry, I just really hate the idea of damage being the only meaningful thing healers have. I don't cure bot, but I can tell you that dpsing makes me forget I'm supposed to be healing and I've had tanks die to it a few times. It's also boring.
Besides, if I want a complex dps rotation I'll play a dps job.
