I hope the engine is faaar more optimized if they ever try this. Otherwise holding that Vita is going to be like holding a hot potato. I bet half of the reason why we didn't see a pre-2.0 FFXIV is because it would have set fire to some PS3s.

Yes, I am taking this entire thread as a joke. FFXIV on Vita? looooooooooooooooooool!

How much did you pay for that game dude?! Twenty bucks. How much did that memory card cost ya? One hundred.

Just because you don't have money, doesn't mean you gotta blame others.

Regarding the memory card prices, sure it's expensive, but thats because they had to control it to stop piracy. In case you forgot, they make money with software not hardware. The psp was plagued by piracy which made developers stop producing games to it. That's the whole reason why they decided to go proprietary. You seem to complain about the memory card , but you can't seem to praise them for taking out that proprietary earphone of psp away. Now we can use any kind of device to reproduce the sound with fidelity. Don't blame Sony, blame the freeloaders.

What drug induced you to come to this conclusion? Proprietary has always been about making money not stopping piracy. How do you think a proprietary memory stick stops piracy? Sure didn't on the psp.

Take a look at their piss poor support regarding UMD's/PS and you can smell a money grab a mile away. They have no problem with people paying three times over for the same game.

My psp runs any memory card. They are not proprietary. You can hack the system and run pirated games via those memory sticks. Which you can't with the vita since the memory is locked by Sony and the game cards are needed to run the game. Impossible to hack that, I dont know, but that's gonna take a long time. Just like the ps3. Plus, from what I see, you gotta update the system to connect Online, and the games, uncharted for example, had a non mandatory update to fix bugs.

Yet Sony do that to make more money and control memory card sales rather than "fight" piracy. If piracy is the issue, then they may to reconsider their stupid marketing strategy. Selling games like Lumines $40 on a handheld console nowadays is just retarded... When next to that, you get iOS offering you tons of similar fun puzzle game for less than $9.99 for 99% of them.

The average consumer is not willing to pay that much anymore for handheld gaming, unless it has a real added value compared to what you can play on your phone/iDevice.

Regarding PSP, it's just as easy to hack a PSP than jailbreak an iDevice. Yet tons of games are being sold on the appstore everyday. Why? Because consumers judge that prices asked for these games are fair. Paying $0.99~$9.99 is fine. Paying $40 isn't.

Some companies realized that, and rather than adding stupid DRMs and stuff in their game, they have been lowering their day one MSRP (SEGA sold Sonic Generations on PC at $20 on Steam, at launch...). Steam sales is the perfect example of what customers wants. Games, at lower price. And actually a LOT of people are willing to pay. Including those who could pirate these game easily (I'm one of them, got a 50mbps line, newsgroup access, I can literally get any PC game within minutes) yet I am still spending $ when I consider that the price is right (Sonic Generations, Dungeons Defender, etc.).

The gaming industry is just walking on the same path as the music industry. Blaming pirates for everything.

I don't know about lumines, but of course if you can get a simple puzzle game with the iPhone, you will get it with the iPhone and save money. What you can get with vita, like uncharted and other full console games you can't with the iPhone. Lumines is made by ubisoft, don't blame Sony for th price. I think $40-50 for a triple A game with vita is fair. Actually th vita prices are much fairer than the ps3 ones. They range from $20-50 while a new Ps3 game goes from $40-60!
