Hell no. Please.

I agree with most of you that a roll back to 1.0 is not what we want. It doesn't seem though people have also read the OP properly. It would be a huge ask of the development team to create something that is different from the current game as well, but a classic experience could be anything different to what is currently. I have read in different post about many gameplay aspects would make for a better experience for some players. Many of these I would consider a classic experience. Public dungeons for example would be good or a better FATE system that rewards a good levelling experience...

Players usually ask for Classic servers in games that have either changed so much it does not resemble the original experience or they've made so many wrong desing decissions that the game is basically much worse than it was in the past.I agree with most of you that a roll back to 1.0 is not what we want. FFXIV has not reached neither of those points.

One thing I would like them to bring back from 1.0 is the old-style of dungeon where you and any number of people could go into an open-world dungeon and hunt NMs inside. Or the old Toto-Rak where there were multiple paths that led to different boss fights.
It would be nice if next expansion's take on Diadem/Eureka/Bozja concentrated more on smaller parties or solo players. A very large open-world zone that has the danger of Eureka, but with lower rate of FATEs or none at all. Open-world dungeons you can go in with 5 or even 20 people. To satisfy the BA crowd, maybe a dungeon like 1.0's version of Darkhold with a fight similar to the old version of Batraal with multiple parties handling different mechanics and using geography to their advantage. And then timed, instanced dungeons like the old Toto-Rak with multiple branching paths and bosses.
I also miss secrets from FFXI. Not many people knew, but there were hidden paths in the dungeons with fake walls you clip through and find a Zilart structure that gives you prizes for a chip and a password. It would be nice to have stuff similar to that again, even if they won't remain a secret for long. Another thing they could bring back from that game is dungeons with no maps, or maps that you have to find from chests inside the dungeon.
The thing I miss most from 1.0 is probably me and a bunch of LS-mates diving into the unknown, not knowing what we were doing. Eureka and Bozja just feel like I'm back in 2.0, grinding FATEs to level up, and it's not as fun.
Yeah, this was in 1.x. Exp farm parties as well. Something like this was actually fine. Even before 1.23, players would organise a party of up to 15 but I think that this involved mostly completing battlecraft leves, though? It actually wasn't that bad but the game was just riddled with too many other problems that took away a lot of the enjoyment.
I agree. It's a great idea.It would be nice if next expansion's take on Diadem/Eureka/Bozja concentrated more on smaller parties or solo players. I actually enjoyed Anemos from Eureka at its release but did not enjoy Pagos. The overall experience sort of took me back to FFXI with the mob kills but Pagos was too grindy for me. I did not like the FATE train for them either but they did help get it done faster. I would have liked something like Fields of Valor. I thought that could have been a nice addition for Eureka.

I do not want to play a game where the resource that allows you to use your abilities is tied to your sprint ability and it drains all that resource when/if used.
I do not want to play a game where there is a teleport resource with an agonizingly slow regen rate. And if you don't have any you don't teleport... anywhere. Literal running simulator. Btw, there were no mounts at the time either.
I do not want to play a game where a tank has been tanking receives one heal from a healer and suddenly the healer is the tank.
I do not want to play a game that will punish me for playing the game. Looking at you lessened exp gain vs time played.
Been there. Done that. Hell no.
I agree. This is not what the OP is suggesting. No throw back to that. Agreed!I do not want to play a game where the resource that allows you to use your abilities is tied to your sprint ability and it drains all that resource when/if used.

lmao how about no?
I don't miss my tank stance swap, healer stance swap and putting point into stats.
Though, i miss my selene ...![]()
you have to remember the story of 1.0 wasn't even finished when they decided to fire Tanaka(?) and brought Yoshi-P on board. Most people that see videos of 1.0 don't think of this, they think of the stuff from the Dalamud story instead, and all that is extremely well documented in videos online.
