Well Fandaniel does want to destroy all life, so that means destroying all of the Shards too... Wouldn't it put it past him to weaponize the Rift.

It'd also make for a logical explanation on how Azem's full power gets unleashed. Being in the rift between the Source and all the Shards, we'd be able to basically pull our copies power directly to us to make us 14/14, at least temporarily.

The same thought flitted through my mind earlier when pondering why we would be going to the rift, but for Zodiark – what if this is their endgame all along? Not every shard has to be individually rejoined, but with enough pieces assembled the rest can be wrenched out of the respective shards from the rift.

It would explain why losing the Thirteenth was a setback but not a permanent obstacle to Zodiark's revival. One less shard to mess around with and set up a rejoining, but Zodiark is still retrievable this way.

i dont think we'll pull our own shards for that moment since there's a possibility they are still alive but i could see us making shades of the scions and sucking those in to temporarily be 14/14 like elidibus did in 5.3 SoS. (Fun fact he sucks in 14 souls initially then summons 7 others to help in the fight)
