Once Endwalker releases, I would LOVE to see a little extra focus on "Holiday" Events

This is absolutely NOT meant as a complaint! I understand that all hands are on deck probably trying to get Endwalker finished, and I'm honestly having a blast just trying to get caught-up on raids (which, if anyone is interested in learning TEA on Crystal, I'd love to join!).

Rather, AFTER Endwalker releases, I personally would really dig seeing a little more priority given on those "Holiday" events.

One of the things that make those so great, is they're casual content that almost EVERYONE can enjoy, regardless of MSQ progress! And they aren't caught up with being "challenging" or anything, just fun.

Personally, I think it would be awesome if for the Halloween event, a small area was added somewhere, sort of like Gridania but all Autumn colors, maybe a small village of creepy-looking cottages, where you would help protect young witches and warlocks while being instructed, fighting off things like "Pumpkin golems" or "sentient magick brooms that are sick of working", just silly stuff like that.

Or for the "Christmas" event, a small, cozy little village covered in snow, with Gingerbread-style houses, where you help people give gifts to one another, fight off a "grinch", stuff like that?

Like I said, I am SUPER excited for Endwalker! But since the story is supposedly going to wrap-up the overarching "Hydaelyn/Zodiark storyline", I think it would be a fun change of pace to see more resources given to some of these Holiday Events.

Even before Covid-19 it felt as if some of the seasonal events were simply being phoned in.

I think that they're exceedingly inefficient for what they are. Presumably a decent amount of work goes into making cutscenes and translating quest text for each seasonal event but they're only around for two weeks at a time and then never come back in the same form ever again.

I'd rather just see what other MMO's do and get the same event each year, albeit with both new and old rewards on offer.

Though that'd negatively impact sales of past items over on the Mog Station and as such will likely not happen for that very reason.

Agreed, barring the Rising, these events rarely contribute anything I find interesting, so just recycling them and focusing on the rewards would be better.

Also, they adjusted their patch timescales by 3 months and expansion release by 5 months, so it's bizarre for people to keep citing COVID. They've said they were initially back up to around 90% efficiency following the alteration in working patterns and 95% more recently, which you can quantify into the delays more or less even using the 10% figure. Rather, I suspect what is causing the delays potentially is work to begin addressing the legacy issues plaguing the game, as well as release on the PS5. We're all speculating here but again, the delays already put in place for COVID in conjunction with their claimed efficiency levels, as well as interviews conveying some rather ambitious longer term projects in light of the game's rising popularity, don't really convince me that COVID is the main reason.

At minimum I feel it's a shame you can't buy the event from the mog shop, the whole quest experience and everything just goes away each year is a bit.. sad lol.

Obviously what would be really cool would be new content stacked ontop of old content each year, but then that'd kill the mog shop. If there was something to sell I'd prefer it be something that was originally made free in game over many new unqiue straight to shop items.

Use the echo system to phase the zone when that's needed (if you're doing 2020 which needs different stuff than 2021). Though they should perhaps get in the habit of stacking all the events. Add snowball fights on year, sledding the next, etc, exist in the same space.

Maybe they can use veteran rewards or like a one time special kupo pom on your character's creation birthday to buy old rewards. Or use that one idea in the other thread about getting like 999 fireworks to make it a perma-emote, some things to farm lol.

I just hope the other events have more available than the current one. The participation polar-bear mount was...ok I guess, and when I went to the vendor all I saw was a few housing items I'll never be able to use and a bunch of consumable sparklers. So I showed up for 5 minutes, did the fate for the mount, and otherwise I've ignored the event because there's no reason to continue participating.

I like the Events most of the time but they are a bit to short. I would like them to just a little bit like the Final Fantasy XI Seasonal Events in the Past. Where you actually had to participate in the Events for a few Days to get all Items. Her its mosty a one and done what kinda is a little sad.
