I also want to chip in and say I have not seen any official word on the status of Fem Hrothgars, or their release, besides the very vague "They weren't ready to show yet" that we got at Fanfest. Pretty much anything on the matter takes me to either reddit or these forums.

But its not like we can do anything else except speculate y'know? I wonder if another QnA is coming up, maybe I or someone can push in the question for transparency on this. We will see.

Yoshi: Yes, we have decided we aren’t going to introduce any more races when we introduced the 2 new races in ShB. Of course I would love to have more races in-game but this is pushing the system and forces it to calculate and deal with more assets. With that said, players from all over the world have been asking for more beast-like races similar to that of Miqo'te .

I cannot stress how hard it is to put 2 races in one expansion, when I consulted with the graphic design team they said “I will give it a try if Yoshida san really wants to do this but it is not realistic to do 2 races at the same time. As we begin to look at what races to create, we noticed there is an overwhelming amount of FFXII lovers asking the question “can this really not be done?”. A huge amount of players had made fan art based on the female version of Vieira and we kind of draw inspiration from their works.

We really wanted to add female Hrothgar at the same time, but ultimately had to push male Vieira out first with the promise of Hrothgar coming later. Male Vieira is well and truly the hard work of the graphic team with the FFXIV spirit in its backbone, so please give the race a try when the expansion comes out.

Not a definitive "Nope, not happening in 6.0", but they don't sound thrilled about doing 2 races in one expansion after doing it for Shadowbringers.

theoretically, since male Viera are now 'done', they could start working on female Hrothgar, though I still think 7.0 sounds like the more reasonable time than releasing them mid expansion. If anything, "implementing one playable race at a time" practically confirms they won't be added in EW.

That said, imagine if it was all just a play on words and they actually get revealed before the expansion releases, that would be something

So yeah, "hypothetically" 7.0 if both were to be released together, so I can't see how doing them one at a time would let them get the second one done any quicker, unless by hypothetically they mean "worst-case scenario but we might be ready before then". And still I can't see them passing up the opportunity to make it something to bundle with the expansion.

I am expecting them in 7.0, and the only reason we've heard about it so early is that they have shown us male Viera are coming – so their options are to say "yes, this does mean female Hrothgar are coming too" or they can play coy about it for another two years until they're ready to start making 7.0 announcements, and they've sensibly chosen the former option.

It sounds like adding both for Shadowbringers was stressful for them and they'd prefer to not do it again.

It's quicker to do them one at a time to ease the workload with what their going through right now. Imagine you have a group of 10 people who were given 2 jobs altogether. Both had to be done at the same time. So the work force is split between working on 2 jobs. Now make it 1 job. You have all people working on 1 job making it faster. So...I can't see how you didn't conclude that. /s

It's quicker to get the first one of two jobs done if you focus on it first, yes.

But – assuming all things are equal and everyone works at a steady pace – it wouldn't impact the completion of the second job whichever way you tackle it.

Very simplistic and arbitrary numbers here. Say you have two jobs that require 100 hours of work each, and you have ten people to work on it.

Route 1: Five people on each job. Each person works for 20 hours on their assigned task. After 20 hours, you have two finished projects.

Route 2: All ten work on one job together, then the other. After 10 hours, you have one finished project. After 20 hours, you have two finished projects.

Doing one first means you have one of the two things much sooner, but the second thing at the same time regardless of route.
