I do understand why it would cause a ruckus of "But I want something too", that mentality seems to be very common in FFXIV, in particular the forums for some reason, even though that argument in this case is completely invalid. The viera appeared in FFXII, FFXII: Revenant wings, Final Fantasy Tactics advance, Tactics A2: Grimoire of the rift, Final Fantasy Tactics S and in a variety of art concepts and fan drawings, they all have been seen and known for wearing shorter heels albiet the very rare occasion of wearing flats, so there is definitely no comparison to the races of 14 in this debate. I know people seem to have the suspicion that if viera have this then it'll be somewhat unfair, I disagree as no one have specifically stated a real reason as to why my concept is unreasonable other than "I want something too". But by all means, if the developers feel like they can brainstorm new ideas for the standard shoes of the different races (Which I doubt because of what I previously stated) I don't see why not.
I am googling the Miqo'te as we speak, there's no defining fashion sense considering they have only been in one game, this applies to the Au Ra, Lalafels (Even though this is their second game) and the list goes on they do not have any distinctive outfits, nor have they to back up a reason for wanting their standard shoes to also have an adjust option other than "viera have it, so why cant I" - I've said this before, I understand FF14 is a first game for many people but the argument of other races vs viera is not a reliable comparison to make.

im pretty sure the viera sandles (much like the 2b boots) replaces the entire leg model from the thigh down to a slightly slimmer version so it isnt immediatly obvious that the higher ankle on the shoe is canibalising part of the calf.
It's not to say that we can't have an ankle high version of the viera sandles, but expect it to look as slightly awkward as every other high heel that doesnt replace the leg model, and probably not as good as the current viera sandles.

Oooh, thank you for sharing this. I've never actually considered how much the already-existing sandals make our legs essentially thinner... Maybe it's not as much of a 'just copy and paste our shoes, make them shorter and be done with it' job as I assumed.im pretty sure the viera sandles (much like the 2b boots) replaces the entire leg model from the thigh down to a slightly slimmer version so it isnt immediatly obvious that the higher ankle on the shoe is canibalising part of the calf.

That is a lot of words sidestepping the issue. It doesn't matter if in X they had Y because this is XIV, where every character gets one unique set. You get one set. Everyone gets one set.I do understand why it would cause a ruckus of "But I want something too", that mentality seems to be very common in FFXIV, in particular the forums for some reason, even though that argument in this case is completely invalid. How is it side-stepping an issue when I clearly stated, numerous times about the significance of viera's design? This may be 14, but that does not mean we can ignore all the previous games and the original outcry when Viera were originally implemented, the community were quite gutted they were given normal feet and thus a lack of the Viera aesthetic, my solution is to retain the aesthetic while having a wider variety of outfits to wear because thigh-high sandals can only be paired with specific outfits and does not work on trousers.
Viera's are unable to wear majority of hats and unlockable hairstyles, other races have no right to complain about the viera having a second option to a pre-existing standard heel. You still haven't told me a reasonable excuse as to why this concept should not be in the game and what the negatives would be, also majoritively, you have ignored my previous messages on the matter and can only seem to bring up the fact you believe everyone should have the same thing.. If people really deem a second option on the standard heel as a genuine unfair situation, wouldn't the logical thing to do would be to direct them to a fantasia potion?

Any outcry over Viera being non Viera like should have been laughed at and nipped in the bud at the get-go. If we were more Viera like we would also be missing shoes and gloves on top of our already gimped hairstyles and lack of a unique hempen. I am fully in the camp that Viera lacking hairstyles is ridiculous. The response to that should be implementing hairstyles not a second pair of shoes. Viera in other games have long arms, claws, and non human feet. None of that is the case here. It wasn't iconic enough to make the cut. That I can have a pale viera as my forum avatar should be proof enough that XIV's Viera are their own beast. I get that you want more options. It'd be neat. Again, look at my avatar- I am a Viera player and I would certainly not mind more heels (and hats and hair) for her. Consider this, though:How is it side-stepping an issue when I clearly stated, numerous times about the significance of viera's design? Would you be ok if male Au Ra and only male Au Ra got a new shirt? Au Ra do have a unique aesthetic, pointed out in the lorebook even- their clothes are hand torn fabric ritualistically fashioned into clothing, which is why their shirts, pants, wrap, and shoes have such jagged edges. Unlike any of the existing races, their aesthetic even bleeds into their hempen sets with some torn up, barely-there pieces. Would it be fair if no new heels for us, only new holey shirt for m Au Ra?
It's nothing to do with being iconic enough to make the cut, it's a matter of it would even further limit what we can wear because putting myself in the developers shoes, going all through all the previous content and adjusting each individual piece of armor to make it equipable for viera would be very tedious. Those sacrifices the developers made in terms of making the Viera more humanoid with shorter arms and human feet, I can stand by and accept those with absolutely no issue, they did what they could to implement the iconic race in the game, so my request is not that unreasonable considering I am just trying to keep the appearance of an ivalician viera. There's numerous speculation that we will have more hairstyles and options in the next expansion but I digress, so what's the fuss of a few people in the design department making a change to a already-existing standard shoe?Would you be ok if male Au Ra and only male Au Ra got a new shirt? And oddly enough, I seem to be one of the VERY few people who believe that all races should have their own distinctive look and should remain to be different from eachother *I'm looking at you, people who want the option to make viera the same height as the miqo'te*. If Au Ra got a new shirt, I wouldn't mind at all. The Au Ra does not appeal to me in the slightest so if they were to by chance get something new, it would not phase me because I have no interest in them or their lore. There was even a forum post I saw just yesterday about a request to re-visit the Hyur's faces and redesign them, if they get that? Good on them. No one will catch me on the forums saying "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE VIERAAAAAAAAA"
