    +1 to craft from retainer inventory;

    But I don't think we need more space. There is no reason to keep fish, bait or crafting materials at all. Everything you could ever want can be purchased or re-acquired with little effort outside of some specific fish.

    The only thing I can feel your pain on would be wanting to keep a large variety of skins for glamour purposes, but even that if you hoard smarter, you should be fine with 2 retainers.

    ..moreover, for the low low price of exactly what you're probably paying anyway, you can get 7 additional characters, each with their own retainers.

    (For the same price as the base fee, you can get the benefits of the better account, but you have to pay 3 months at once at a time, instead of monthly.)

    Lack of inventory is a problem in all MMO's I've played. Sometimes I'm convinced the developers officially consider inventory management a mini-game within the main game. If nothing else it is a way to keep players logged in as they try to decide what to keep and what to get rid of. So while I would be overjoyed with more inventory space I do not have an expectation it will ever be resolved 100% within the game genre.

    That being said many games today provide unlimited crafting material storage space as part of their subscription. This goes a long way towards freeing up space in the regular inventory and would be a good QoL addition to this game. Personally I don't consider extra retainers a good value but I'd consider spending a couple of bucks extra per month for an unlimited crafting bag.

    I also think the glamour system would be better if the dresser was nothing more than the glamour plates. Every item that is eligible for use as glamour would flip a switch once the player had picked it up and the system would use a common object table to build the plates. It would save database space and memory usage since the only items loaded would be those that have been assigned to glamour plates while creating a system that would allow access to unlimited styles. Again this is a QoL thing but would likely help system resource usage and an overburdened inventory system that I suspect the glamour dresser is scaffolded onto.

    I see this more as inventory management than anything. They can give us 1000000 slots, yet still will be filled. I've played for years and always managed my inventory and never run out of space.

    Listen - if one has all retainers and is still struggling with inventory space, regardless of if there's another 4 pages of inventory added they're going to run out of space as that's a sign of poor inventory management.

    It's the game's fault, mate. Glamours should be learned, not carried in a limited-space dresser; weapons and armor should be in some kind of a drop down menu that has unlimited space (and I say this because you are constantly switching jobs in FFXIV; you don't need carry 10+ sets around in other MMORPGs - just this one); you shouldn't auto-loot every item that drops (particularly unnecessary trash); the vast quantities of garbage materia, fireworks, etc. that you are handed constantly while playing need to either sell for more, or be eliminated entirely, and so on.

    FFXIV is just bad at this. It's okay to be critical of something when it's warranted. And it is warranted here. You can love a thing without liking every aspect of it, and just because this game has flaws doesn't mean those flaws must be automatically be attributed to players 'doing it wrong.'

What makes this even worse is that just about all of these items have a HQ version that takes up yet another spot.

    I want to add something else: FFXIV is a game that encourages you to hoard. And that isn't a criticism - rather, it's a complement of how involved the crafting system is, and how complex things like item enhancement are. I mean, like half my freaking bag space is taken by dyes - items I use constantly, and have no desire to throw away. Why isn't there, like, a dye palette or something that we can just add charges to? That doesn't sound immensely complicated to program - and it's a QOL change that would help a ton of us out instantly.

    More of an echo at this point but proper glamour log (in the form of the item in log they were originally working in, for extra cool points), and then a crafting bag (edit: not like WoW, more like ESO), would be extremely cool and probably wipe out 90% of the problems). Just one of those would most likely do huge wonders.
