Is there any way to save the UI settings on one character to become the default UI for other alt characters and/or new ones on the account?

Thanks. Yea, I know there are different ways to addres this and workaround it, but it just seems to me to be relevant info that should be in the Item Tooltip.
In the Quick Synthesis window, make the "Max:" text clickable, and when clicked, set the Quantity to the max possible.
1. doing /battlestance emote will not auto-sheathe your weapon
2. mogstation items, glamours in particular, should have its own armoire. I mean, i would like to buy some new glamour items from mogstation but it takes up my armoury space or even the glamour dresser. it should at least function like the 'exclusive extras' tab in the armoire.
i woud LOVE to use controller on the "legacy" setting and not have my camera auto adjust. its disabled for legacy controls for whatever reason and its very annoying.
Not currently.
Until they implement that, though, you could do this if you play on PC:
1. Backup ALL of your character's settings on the cloud.
2. Navigate to your documents, and locate the FFXIV folder (path is usually something like C:\Users\Yourname\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn )
3. Delete all the character settings folders (the ones named something like FFXIV_CHR0040002E0000000)
4. Reopen the game, download your main's character settings again.
5. In the FFXIV folder, create a placemarker file of any kind to identify it as your main's settings
6. Download your alt's game settings. Close the game.
7. Copy the file "UISAVE.DAT" located in your main's folder. Paste it into your alt folders.
8. Open the game again. You will now have your main's UI settings available to those characters. You can do this for other things such as keybinds by copypasting the relative save files, too.
It takes less time than all of these steps make it seem.
