    Oh good lord.

Being bad at the game ≠ being disabled. 99.99% of the time these people are a) uninformed about mechanics, b) lazy, or c) inattentive or distracted. It's pathetic that you'd attempt to draw a line between ableism and criticism over those who are willfully unskilled.

Skiros is right though... You're the exact kind of player that uses no essences and dies 10 times in a single fight in Delubrum. It is not ableism to want people to press a single button in their holster to use an essence. This community is hopeless.

sigh.. Oh boy, it's going to be one of those threads again isn't it? Let's just get this over with.

Some of the examples that you quoted from are taken way out of the context that they were posted. It isn't elitism to expect someone to have basic understanding of their class past a certain level. You shouldn't be getting WHMs at level 60 - 80 content still using Cure 1. They're not helping the group.

The game is a team effort, and everyone no matter what disability they may or may not have has to contribute at least semi-decently to the group. This isn't to say that people expect them to do the top percentage of their DPS class or whatever class they have, they just want people to practice their skills and have an understanding of things before hopping into content they've never done before. It's that simple. And if they want to go at a slower pace without feeling under pressure, they have Trusts that they can use, or they can go with friends that can adapt to their playstyle.

If there is anything hopeless about this community, it's the flood of players who are defending ableism and shutting out any attempts at empathy.

Demonstrating your lack of understanding of what empathy actually is doesn't grant you any credibility. The person you responded to appears to have quite accurately found the base point in your oversized post and made it apparent they have no sympathy for you and your supposed argument.

Then you quote things like this:

"I don't mind a few mounts being inaccessible to all players. There should always be some mounts or glamours that people can only get by clearing the hardest raids/content in the game."

With your attitude, that content is not for you. That isn't elitism.

What is "semi-decent" varies from player to player. You might be saying that using Cure 1 and Cure 2 along with a few oGCD skills count as "semi-decent." But one day people will be expecting the White Mage to do more damage than a tank in casual duties. The only objective metric for "decent" in this game is: can you complete the duty?

Don't respond seriously to this thread, it's another bait topic by a known forum troll. It is entertaining to see their alts (or people who talk just like them and have an exact same job spread) pop up to talk to each other though.

Seems to me you just don't want Hardcore players or content in the game based off your very first post ever and from what I've read here.

Cut Ultimate to make more midcore content.
Only 1% of the player base will ever play Ultimate. More than 50% of the player base is midcore and will enjoy midcore content.

We'll see the Ultimate raiders clearing the Ultimate then doing nothing for the entire expansion and unsubbing. If you make good midcore content with longevity, people will play them the whole expansion. This isn't just good for the majority of players, it's good business strategy too.

Remind me why so much content is cut in favor of Ultimate, and why Ultimate raiders are still not satisfied and keep whining about other people's content like Male Viera?
