Pulling During Cutscene

The ToS is so vague that both cutscene watchers and early pullers can be reported under the "Obstruction of Play". Which is just a laughing matter in itself. I'm curious on what others think about "Hunt Trains". Those revolve around the same matter - waiting and early pullers. Would the same parameters apply to this?

Usually hunt trains are very vocal and you have Linkshells for them. Area chat is filled with people looking for parties and a time of when the pull will happen as every body waits. You will have a few bad apples who pull early to troll, etc. But it's the same concept.

Most first-timers/cutscene watchers I have run into are very quiet and don't say anything at all. This signals to the group a green light to go. Especially if there is no response when asked. There have been a few threads and videos talking about the "Norm" of running dungeons. Which is tanks pull everything up until they can't and mow it all down to completely rushing MSQ roulette, etc.

So if a first-timer/cutscene watcher doesn't respond to questions or is quiet, people will just assume to pull or go because it's the norm these days for running dungeons. Is it wrong? Highly debatable as everyone should value each others time and play style. But that never happens.

I'm very against people happy triggers in hunts. Trains is managed and respected in my CWLS and Hunt discord. Maybe it's different in NA, from what I've been told NA is much more trigger happy than in EU in general.

Most people in EU is very against people not waiting on people early pull S ranks and recommend to wait 5-10 minute so people can get to the location.

For someone to claim don't care for anyone here on forums says, you act fairly defensive when you got called out on your mentality.
I highlighted a few words you like to describe your fellow players with, cause you may disagree with waiting on a new player watching a <1 minute cutscene. Pretty disingenuous if you ask me.

If you don't want to wait that long, run the dungeons pre-made or don't bother or don't act surprised when people call it out.

While I’m perfectly comfortable to say I’m new to the game/dungeon/whatever to signal I may do dumb stuff and will need some time here and there, I fully understand those who remain quiet about it. In so many games it’s a reason to get kicked from the group or invite abuse. In that sense I understand those who prefer to be quiet and just try their best, in the hope noone will notice. It’s a sad state of affairs that players can be so fearful of other players, but there are logical explanations for it unfortunately. Personally I’d suggest that when you see a sprout, just assume they’re new to whatever you are doing until you notice they are not.

I have had instances most recently one of the Nier dungeons where I ported into a locked instance after a cutscebe into a floor filling aoe and was instantly one shotted then raised again into another aoe since I was new to the fight and instantly died again and got called trash and had some guy advocating to vote kick me when it wasn't even my fault. But seriously you do you both of you. You don't need our blessing.

I mean, I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve seen people tank the floor frequently in there and most was said is maybe learn to dodge. Not worth kickin over.

Sigh. This is getting ridiculous having to really explain what is actually said rather than have you twist it into what you want to argue against.
So let me explain using a scenario.
We will say, a dps is new. Only the 1 dps. Reach the final boss. Dps is in cut scene, and only the dps. Tank pulls. Healer disagrees because they believe the dps should be able to partipate in the whole fight and the tank should have waited for cutscene to finish. So healer stays behind barrier, and tank dies. What the healer did, CHOOSING not to participate, is reportable.
No where did I say watching cutscenes is reportable. Good try though.

I am PERFECTLY willing to bet that in such a scenario, the GM that reviews the report for the Healer would say "This is so silly, why is this person being reported?" and shakes their head about how people just really love to justify being an arse.

I am actually laughing out loud about the illogicality of your argument here. Do you REALLY expect the GM, in such a scenario, would punish the Healer if they are being reported?

Double edit: the amount of length people trying to justify being an arse to another person is just astounding, TBH. 10 seconds, 20 seconds, at most 1 minute, wouldn't kill you holy shit people.

Ugh. I'm disappointed in myself tonight. Got Toto-Rak in Roulette, with a first-timer. We get to the end boss, and the tank rushes in while the newbie is still in their cutscene. I wanted to wait, and I should have said something. But instead, I caved and went on in, thinking "It's not that big of a deal, they will just join us half-way through."

Nope. Turns out I really underestimated how quickly the boss would die, even with only one DPS. And to top it all off, the tank flippantly remarks to the first-timer at the end: "You can watch cutscenes at the inn." Wow. That is so not the point.

Moral of the story: if any of you care about supporting sprouts and helping them to enjoy their journey through the MSQ, don't be weak like I was tonight. Stand with them. Don't validate and reward selfish behaviour.
