I think that they didn't bring it back because of ARR zone flying. In order to get credit for any quests involved in it, you would need to have the status effect of Hoofing It which prevents flying, but that wouldn't stop people without the quest being active from just flying up there and trolling the jumpers by blocking the path with giant mounts. Bringing it back onto the map is probably relatively trivial, but they'd also need to hack in a flight barrier.

Pretty sure you can just go through the mounts or visit a server where people aren't trolling if it becomes an actual issue. I mean, people aren't constantly trolling in the Kugane jumping puzzle so I don't think it would be an issue to begin with...?

Like many players, I never got to see this, so it would be great to experience it. It's sad how FFXIV's seasonal events seem to get deleted year after year, with past content gone forever.

That's a good point, although they could probably create an instanced version of it like the Leap of Faith GATEs in Gold Saucer.
