Remember when the world was up in arms over $2.50 for a horse armor skin in oblivion? I personally don't care that much about this mount, but I find the debate peculiar every time it comes up.
I get that SE's ultimate goal is to make money, sure. But as a consumer, it's sensible that your goal should be to make your dollar go as far as possible. What exactly does anyone actually get out of submissing to a multi-billion dollar mega corporation on the internet? Do you think YoshiP is going to walk through your door and personally thank you for your efforts or something? You're pretty much arguing against your own self interests, unless you're into findom I guess.
Wont be the first time people lose it over a mount or item being put on the mog wont be the last. They have plenty of mounts, emotes and glamour to spend MGP on.
They have plenty of rewards for doing ranked PVP and non-ranked glamours and emotes
They have plenty of rewards to spend achievement points on
They have plenty of rewards to earn through content like Boja
Raiders have plenty of mounts available just do the content
A new mount gets added to mog and people act like there's literally nothing to earn in game through the content available.
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
“Why is it not a savage raid mount?” For a raid series that came out six years ago? And can be unsynced solo’ed? No thanks, the only place it makes sense would be The Epic of Alexander and I can only imagine how these forums would burn if they locked Cruise Chaser behind an Ultimate, people would be flipping a script and begging for mogstation access.
That wasn't my only point though. Every video game company has seen their cost of development skyrocket due to the constant demand for higher fidelity graphics, mechanical innovation and so forth. They have to make this cost up somehow. So either the customer pays substantially more for the retail product, we accept the micro-transaction compromise or everything gets scaled back.
And before anyone says, "Well, I never cared about graphics anyway!" You may not but the average gamer does. This is why games with weaker graphics are immediately criticised. It's expected from the AAA industry, especially from companies like Square Enix which pride themselves on stellar graphical advancement.
This isn't entirely true. They repurposed their investment into other content. Yoshida has said each Critical Engagement is the equivalent of a dungeon boss in terms of development scale. Now consider there is roughly 30 between the Southern Front and Zadnor and you realize where their budget went. If you don't like Bozja, then yes, for you, there feels like far less content.
And this is just one example.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
If only something recent came out with Alexander....if only...“Why is it not a savage raid mount?” For a raid series that came out six years ago? And can be unsynced solo’ed? Also...you can just make it a MGP reward. Im pretty sure there needs to be an update.
It really is sad and i’m surprised it’s not something that’s brought up more. Someone in this thread actually raised the point to me that they made that stance of well “we don’t want to expand on it because i’m exclude newer players.” But then after they said that apparently they lowered the requirements for cloud’s attire…so why didn’t they just do that for everything and have a set cap, and they could gradually add things to that rather than just putting all this stuff on the mogstation. You know what makes me sad?
They've killed Veteran Rewards (which was super cool) under the valid point that most old stuff would be unattainable for a new player, implemented an achievement point exchange that solved that problem and then proceeded to never put ANYTHING there again.
For new players: Veteran Rewards were an appreciation gesture where the dev team gifted some items (Minions, furniture, mounts) based on your total subscription time.
You mean like Ultimate? Which would be The Epic of Alexander.. yeh these forums would burn, mgp… sure cause that wouldnt trigger people releasing a new mgp mount a few days after the make it rain campaign.. which is the entire point, this community just wants something to rant about it wouldnt matter how it was released it would never fly over well
You're leaving out the fact that it's more than $15. You also pay for expansions. If only people would defend their own interests as they are willing to defend a multi whatever company's. Boggles the mind. People are downright asking to be fleeced. lolI mean they really don't need a valid reason. It is a business, and their game. Players who don't like it don't matter. They will keep playing the games, and people who want to buy it will buy it. I am at least more understanding why they do it. I mean the fact that mmos are still 13-15 dollars a month is a darn good deal
The soon mounts will be > $100 and it won't stop there. Because gamers are stupid. /shrug
People have been saying that since sleipnir was added. Mount pricing is still largely the same. You're leaving out the fact that it's more than $15. You also pay for expansions. If only people would defend their own interests as they are willing to defend a multi whatever company's. Boggles the mind. People are downright asking to be fleeced. lol

Im not even attached to the shop. I own no mounts, and the moment the shop actually becomes predatory is the day I quit.
I'm just tired of all the fear mongering. This happens with literally every Mogstation update. For 7 years.
