Why is the Cruise Chaser mount from the Mogstation?

lets not pretend like blizzard cash shop has anything to do with the problems they are having now.


Some of you are acting entitle as I don't know what. I could understand if the cash shop was so bad that it prevents new items coming out, or how many mmorpgs does it. Normal items look bad, so that they can sell cash shop items. That is not the case at all.



If any of you thought a company is your friend. That is on you. A company is design to make money. That is what they are doing. The demand is high. So much so that the mog station is lagging, and they can't keep up with the demand, The poor moogles are so far behind on the mail that some people since it was release still not got the mount.




Like I said some of you can be unhappy about it. Cool, but acting like you are betrayed, acting like a business is being greedy because they want to make more profits. Acting like your sub is good enough for all the content you get. You out of your mind.

I thought the issue was that a 5-year old mount that people clamored for ended up on the shop when they had ample opportunity to release it multitudes over; rather than "shop bad" which is a discussion for another day.

I do not support such behavior and i do not buy any mounts from cash shops. Yoshi-P whines about the lack of developer ressources and why they will not introduce new races etc. But when it comes to design new cash shop mounts the developer ressources are suddenly available. That sounds not very plausible to me.

I had to hold back from being very sarcastic and rude to you. If you ever actually paid attention to previous interviews, etc., you would know that Yoshi-P has no control over the Mogstation at all. It is a separate entity run by someone else within a different department. I forget their name.

I've never been a fan of having a store on a game where you have to buy a base version + expansions + pay a monthly sub (and even pay for extra retainers). I'm ok with it when they bring cosmetics from versions of the game in other regions, as that's just the reality of games that operate in those regions. I'm not so happy when they put on it new items that could have perfectly been part of the game we're already paying for (like the /toast emote, even featured in-game in the Dwarven beast tribe quest cutscenes).

But Cruise Chaser being a store mount crosses all kinds of lines. This is something we've been expecting to get in the game for 5 years, ever since Alexander: The Creator was released in 2016. It's a fight that's beloved and popular in the community for multiple reasons, and it has appeared in other content like The Epic of Alexander and Rival Wings. It's a very meaningful entity within the playerbase. Having it finally as a mount but not tied to gameplay but to the store is really disappointing. I'm not against them making money, but this feels like a betrayal. That they care much more about our money than about our loyalty as players.

1 is cash shop, 1 is recruit a friend, and the others are pvp. Which has nothing to do with them, and 1 of those will be impossible for 99.999999% of the playerbase to acquire, since only 100 per DC are able to get it.

Why are we locking beloved raid mounts behind pvp? Where's the rage threads over that?

It's not about it being a little or a lot of money, you're either missing the point people are making or wilfully ignoring it.

The article quoted actually provides some rather interesting reading. The rest of this post isn't really about anything the poster said.

Here's a breakdown:

• Revenues for the company's MMO division came in at 13.6B Yen ($120M), up from 8.8B Yen ($80M) last quarter.
  
• Revenues from mobile games also increased quarter over quarter from 20.3B yen to 23.7B yen
  
• Publication revenues also soared quarter over quarter from 3.8B Yen to 5.1B yen
  
• Traditional retail game sales came in at only 10.8B Yen since no major titles were released in the quarter.

So, to be clear, the MMO division ranked second out of the four areas listed in the article, and only because of sales of a new expansion (note the 9B Yen from the previous quarter, which, after everyone has purchased the game, would drop back.)

The MMO division does not drive Square Enix's revenues. It is, in fact, worth 14B Yen in revenue for a company that made more than 50B Yen in revenue/

So - you can you tell me why, exactly, they should pay more attention to FFXIV than to the rest of the company's products?

This is also revenue, not profit. Which means expenses are not included.

I'm sorry to hear that the cash shop is physically and/or mentally abusing you.
Maybe you should, you know, try and end that relationship and move somewhere else.
It's apparent that it's no good for you and that you need to get away from it.
No one should have to live with fear of a Cash Shop abusing you.
