It's a characterization; like saying peoples ideas/opinions/personality are distasteful. It's a perfectly valid word if you're trying to express your dislike for a person or community, but it isn't a valid argument if you're trying to make a real point or debate someone else's point.

So would it be a real point if someone said it was distasteful? Do you realize you just contradicted yourself?

No, I said toxicity is just a characterization, the same way as saying something is distasteful would be. A characterization isn't a real point, it's basically just sharing how you feel about something.

some people in FFXIV community use it as soon someone act slightly as an asshole or being rude. The word has lost meaning.

Labeling somebody toxic is a vain and futile attempt to transform your person-relative opinion into a fact.

Instead of throwing around the word toxic, why don't you explain in detail what your issue is and make an argument?
Going against a clique is never fun.

The word "toxic/Toxic" within the world of social communication of definition, description, Troma Theater character/theme, pop song and as insult has surpassed the word "casual" in every sense, as well as "ok boomer" and is about to surpass the level of "Hanzo Main"

    https://www.pcgamesn.com/overwatch/hanzo-main-insult

It is getting to absurd levels fast, with little to zero regards on how foolish those appear when they use it unironically.

It is at the late 80s early 90s sitcoms level were parents use hip new slang to appeal to their kids. The ones saying it have no clue how unsettling it really is, and all those around are now seeing and feeling embarrassed.

Though, as these words come in fast for certain reasons, and die faster, it is prime to bring back older words in their place, one that have more bang for their buck.

Cause we all know toxic isn't all that and a bag of chips. Only narcs use toxic.

So here are two actual experiences I have had when I was a BLM in Heavensward:

EXPERIENCE I: "BLM, you should be using Fire II more on trash pulls" <-- not toxic

EXPERIENCE II: "Ayuh'ra, I hear you are the worst player in this game. LOL, just died again yes, CONFIRMED!" <--toxic

Those are extreme but true examples. I think the difference there should be clear.

EDIT: to elaborate the first example is blunt, no attempt at niceties, but not rude. It's just a fact or advice with no extra bells and whistles. Not toxic, especially since people only have so much time to type in a dungeon.

The second example is what "toxic" should be used for: Being rude, insulting, and to a degree that poisons the well and can ruin someone's experience of that content.

Reminder: If you thought someone was toxic to you or to anyone for whatever reason. It's encouraged to report them instead of just blacklisting/ignoring them as it helps SE taking care of the bad apples.
Of course, there are certain criteria used by the support to identify a toxic person from the rest.

I've been told I'm toxic, I take that as a compliment considering how people are in alliance raids.
