You take heavy damage and will get 3 vuln stacks. Do not recommend.
At least they dont explode and leave you nothing to hide with.

Also it would make it a lot more entertaining. I'm so tired of how often I'm getting Syrcus on roulette (mostly because of relic weapons, I assume) because all I'm doing most of the time is zoning out. I want to actually play the game...Literally every WoD starts this way for me. Angry Mango is where people forget WoD can still actually kill you if you ignore mechanics, which is a far cry from the rest of CT. The same thing happens in Mhach and Dun Scaith, and most of Ivalice. This is why I really wish they'd scale back the ilevel sync for LotA and ST so that they're still somewhat dangerous, because as they are now, they just breed laziness and bad habits from how often the early CT raids pop from ilevel cheesing/new players going into it.![]()
My new pet peeve is Cerberus in World of Darkness. Someone always feels the need to hold onto the chains for "extra DPS", inevitably fails to get them on in time and we wipe. Please just put them on as soon as possible
I actually had a smooth run of WoD last night for once! Needed my last 50 tomes for the week last night so I ran that roulette. Scared when I load in and 4 members of my group are new, and it appears the other two groups have a lot of new people. I buckle down and expect the worst, but other then a messy eye dude (no wipe at least) the rest of the run was nice. Whole team even got eaten by Cerebrus properly (we were B) after I explained it and the chains were put on well enough by the other team. Wish every run of that went that way.
Honestly, in my experience it's rarely ever new players that are the problem - a lot of them may have even looked up guides for the raids before going in, or at least picked up quickly. Usually it's the vets who are too used to steamrolling the prior two CT raids that make wipes happen so much in anything harder than rolling your face on your keyboard.I actually had a smooth run of WoD last night for once! Case in point, had a Haukke manor on my lowbie alt with a party of new players. We had a few hiccups - the MCH didn't drag a mob over to the tank but instead stood there trying to kill it, until I told them to bring it closer to the rest so our WAR could hit it with Overpower; the tank wasn't really sure where to go sometimes, so I had to guide them; the MCH accidentally dropped off the stairs and pulled a second pack - but it all went pretty smoothly, considering. Smoother than I've seen it go with some veterans leveling a new low class and insisting they know what they're doing... when they really don't.
For me for WoD it's always either that there's too many new people that aren't sure of mechanics and no one is stepping up to help them out or people who are too lazy to actually DO the run properly.Honestly, in my experience it's rarely ever new players that are the problem - a lot of them may have even looked up guides for the raids before going in, or at least picked up quickly. Last Friday I ran Thousand Maws, and it left me feeling under geared and ineffective. So I decided that I needed to get my item level up to snuff, as well as materia meld my equipment to the moon. Yes, I was level 34 at the time. So over the weekend I grinded out my weaver, leatherworker, and goldsmith jobs until they were level 30, mostly. Doing so, I finally remembered how great levequests are for leveling a trade skill. Anyway, I got my gear's item level up to 27 (it had previously been 22 or so) and got bored. I only got my goldsmithing up to 20 or so, due to having to constantly go out and mine for an hour or 4 to get more ore. So said "fork this" and queued up for Haukke Manor. The queue popped within a few seconds, which was nice. Once I got in, I mentioned I'd never done the dungeon before, so if I made a mistake I apologized in advance. we then proceeded to curbstomp the dungeon hard. During the final boss we split up without having to mention it, and all took a different void lantern. All told things went smoothly, and I began to question why I felt I was under geared in Thousand Maws since now I felt over geared.
Been doing New Game+ from the beginning and decided to use Gunbreaker through the dungeons in an effort to learn the ropes of tanking here after how many years. Was gonna use monk but i only got it at like 20 something and i can't level through NG+ so decided against it.
It's fun to watch all the sprouts learn how to play the game. Saw a fledgling conjuror cautiously figure out that they can weave in dps spells and don't need to spam cure. Saw an Archer learn why you shouldn't charge ahead of the tank into rooms with a treasure chest. Had a group try and figure out the last boss mechanics on the fly in Sastasha.
It's been a fun day.
I've had to take a semi-break from the game because I've been having... I guess low-level roulette burnout? I'm not complaining that newer players don't know how to play, of course they don't, I didn't at that point, but having to explain things (how to tank, mechanics, using Holy, stop spamming Cure at this level, use Esuna...) almost every time is tiring me out.
Sure, I don't "have" to, but whenever I just stay silent and let things go, I feel kinda bad afterwards because they do need someone to point them in the right direction.
I'm opting to just take it easy unless I feel up to it. Luckily, this game doesn't punish you for not doing roulette every day.
Though, often it's tanks who don't know to AOE for two or more enemies, and it sucks because I know why they aren't. It doesn't seem right to just spam the same button over and over for almost the entire pull. (Being a DRG main I especially know this.)
I can understand not wanting to spam the same button over and over. When fighting groups, I have a very static rotation of Arms of Destruction>Twin Snakes>either Demolish (for the DoT) or Rockbreaker (usually rockbreaker). And having one single rotation you always cycle through is kind of boring in the long run. I try to mix things up now and then by throwing in a True Strike instead of Twin Snakes, but that's only a minor variation.I've had to take a semi-break from the game because I've been having...
