*SPOILERS* Terrified for the remaining Scions!

I dunno. I don't feel like it's that bad that the Scions didn't have any major casualties in ShB, but that's because I barely felt attached to most of them in the first place. I mean.....

-Thancred has spent most of the plot thus far either possessed (ARR), missing (HW), or popping in and out for bits of exposition (SB). He just hasn't done a whole lot, so while he had his moments (slugging the younger Fortemps son comes to mind), I just never felt that close to him. ShB was the first time he's actually around long enough for me to really notice him much.

-Urianger has been on the sidelines all along. Aside from the Warriors of Darkness arc back in 3.4, his whole role has been to hang around the Waking Sands and pop in when we need to be reminded that he exists. He's a little more involved in the Warring Triad quests, but he's had the least MSQ relevance of them all.

-Y'shtola gets a good amount of screen time, but she also keeps getting so many death fakeouts that I've lost all suspension of disbelief with her. Even in ShB, I just kinda rolled my eyes when she fell offscreen, because there's just no tension when she does it.

-G'raha was a minor character before, wasn't heard from for years, and now he's back. Ish. I don't mind him, personally, but I can see why other people don't care for him.

So of the main Scions, only the twins have really been in focus long enough for me to really form any kind of attachment. And I never believed for a minute that they were going away, because let's face it, they're the main characters most of the time. We're just along to hit stuff.

I feel like they just weren't, well, relevant enough before Shadowbringers to be worth doing anything that serious to them. Now that we've actually had a whole expansion to get used to them being around, now it might feel earned.

You said 'I hope they do all somehow die' to which I responded ultimately 'Or you know, we can not kill literally everyone'. You spoke of all, not once, but twice even, not some. I am quite fine with one or multiple deaths among the good guys, be it scions or their allies. But I think going from 'they never suffer consequences' to 'all of them die' is the opposite extreme, and also undesirable.

It was an obvious exaggeration. My point was i wouldn’t care if they all died. Point is, there needs to be consequences or the story is going to turn into even more of a dull mess than it already has been for 3 patches now. They went from killing off multiple protags to killing off none which is also a pretty opposite extreme. But i guess that doesn’t matter lol

While the story is decent overall I've never really gotten into the characters outside of a couple so I am pretty indifferent. Just don't make me sit through another "pity redemption " arc ala Yotsoyu or Misjiia. Those are painfully contrite.

I don't necessarily need any of them to die, but I do definitely think it's time to retire at least some of them. Write them out of the main active story and leave them as people we can or have to consult from time to time but we don't need to keep things the way they are now. Let some other characters get the love and development they deserve (and stop making it feel like we're basically playing out Alphi's story).

Of course, if they did actually let Graha bite the bullet I wouldn't be upset.

I have a sneaking suspicion Hydaelyn will be gone at the end of 6.0, and we'll need a replacement locked in Crystal who is able to handle it. G'raha being the only one who was actually locked in crystal, used the magicks of it to actively pull people across the Rift, and has had a century to actively learn large amounts of knowledge. I'm guessing he's going to have another "locked in crystal" type 'death', except this one will be more permanent with him watching over the Source and the shards from then on.

Final Fantasy games have never shied away from consequences, so hopefully FFXIV starts returning to its roots instead of encasing even minor characters in ridiculous levels of plot armour.

I don't know what "roots" you mean. With a few notable exceptions

Final Fantasy games generally don't kill off main characters or party members. Even in FF4

everyone that died either faked it or comes back to life by the end.

This is is MMO, but the Scions are written and regarded as if they are party members. And even if one were to try and dispute that they can't argue the Scions are main characters.
We shouldn't be surprised they're not going anywhere.

It’s why i get so…confused when people say they cried at that part when right before that they tell us how we’re going to put his memories into graha anyways.

tbh, to me it felt like graha was perfectly happy with us just carrying his crystal around and nothing more and the dialogue felt like that, too
