We didn't need Bismark for distance. We needed Bismark because most of the Scions can't breath underwater. The fact that they managed to swim back at the end of 5.0 implies that it's not that far.

I don’t think them managing to swim back is much to go off of(which doesnt make much sense to me because i thought Bismarck drained all of the water) but, again this is the cast with major plot armor and plot convenience at their backs. We’re shown it’s essentially the ocean floor. They can’t scale that that well obviously due to gameplay limitations but it’s fairly obvious that’s what it is. Irregardless it still makes the feat clash with the plot points they gave us. We can try and rationalize or headcanon it all we want, fact of the matter is it’s never explained and it defies the very logic the writers themselves put out there. That and the emet situation are both plot holes in the end.

Then also consider that, when Bismark first dives into the sea with the Scions, he's in fairly close visual range to the shore. A couple of dockworkers in Kholusia are shown commenting on it (and nearly getting drenched by the waves kicked up by it).

He used his breath to push the water back, making an air bubble so the Scions can breath. It's fey whale magic, probably best not to think about it too hard.

So how far out into the ocean does it have to be before it counts as the ocean floor?

I don't think I've headcanoned anything in this discussion. I'm just extrapolating from the evidence the game gives us. The writers never give out exact distances for anything, just like they never set a hard timeline for anything past ARR's launch.

None was killed off for ages ... theres no real "danger" and while okay ... players love certain chars can we please stop with the plot armor.

Looking at

Yshtola which has been sucking on her own aether for 3 full expansions now, why even mention it if you never make anything with it.
Graha which was straight "resurrected" after sacrificing himself
Thancred which "faded out" after a fight with Ranjit
Rhyne which was pierced by hades
Gosetzu had a building drop on him, while being shot.
Estinien was controlled by Nidhogg
Those are just the first few that come to mind

Lady Ice heart died and had an impact

im sure i actually forgot some

and then? after 4.0 started? Immortality field activated unless your side char.

If 6.0 is to close a chapter i hope they remember that a story w/o threat is not as exciting as it can be and im not asking for a global wipe out.

But the truth is ... They already added most of the scions to other games so their not gonna do anything and its gonna be us defeating all things up to zenos and then zenos and all make it out.

I didn’t mean the headcanon think against you btw. I just meant it period. A lot of people tend to headcanon things for events that don’t make sense in the story. As for the depths thing, honestly we aren’t going to get a straight answer. But just from looking distance we’re at least fairly deep underwater, so much so we go deeper into the various trenches of that which the Ondo don’t even go down. I would imagine it’d be pretty deep as no one was able to see Amaurot. Not to mention how long the Bismarck ride takes to get to Anamnesis.

You heard it here first :

During the first 2/3 of 6.0 : Zenos will kill Urianger and absorb his soul inside his weapon, Raubahn will die (maybe Kan-E-Senna or Merlwyb too).
Near the end Y'shtola will sacrifice herself (for good).
After the end :
Thancred will retire feeling responsible for Urianger and Y'shotla's deaths in some manner.
Alphinaud will stay in Sharlayan with Krile as his advisor to reform the country.
Arenvald will be elected leader of the new "Scions" with Fordola being the main fighter, Tataru will stay.
Alisaie, G'raha (and Estinien if he doesn't stay with Vrtra) will be our new party to explore the world in the future.
